Wake leads UNC 46-36 at the half. Jake LaRavia with 18 and 6.
Wake wins it 98-76. LaRavia with 31p 10r 4a 3stl. Wake 2 starting guards and LaRavia were combined 25-37 from the field. Looks like Dawson Garcia still working his way back from a concussion suffered a couple of weeks ago.

That silence is deafening...
Man, this can't be how he envisioned his playing career going. He was ranked around 30 in the class of 2017. Recruited by Crean and Buckley. Seems like a lifetime ago. Kind of surprised he stayed at UL when so many hit the portal.

Yeah, I really like Memphis' future. They are a fun team to watch now.
Desmond Bane would have looked good in an IU uniform. Every time I see him, it's hard not to be reminded of that.
Anyway, I like fresh, younger teams, and I especially like spreading the wealth where a new franchise is a legit contender. Good for Memphis.
Couldn't have hurt to take a flyer on Bane. If I remember he scored a lot in high school and had a body built for the Big10. Brought in Gelon instead, along with Devonte Green and Curtis Jones in 2016. Oh well.

Big Ten had a poor night, but I think they held on to win the Big Ten/ESPN challenge.
I thought it was a 6-6 tie

Interested to see what FSU does at Purdue. They have one kid 7-4, 255 lbs...one 7-2, 236 lbs...one 7-0, 240 lbs...one. 7-1, 190 lbs. None play many minutes, but still interesting to see how Edey does. FSU has plenty of length too. We'll see if they can shoot...defend...rebound. 5-1 record with only loss to Florida.
The two biggest bigs are out along with a guard that plays about 20 mpg. I anticipate an easy Purdue victory.

It will be interesting to see how it shakes out. I have no clue how to gauge Minnesota/Pittsburgh, Northwestern/Wake Forest, and Clemson/Rutgers games. They all seem like they could go either way. Same for IU if I am honest.
Might be mildly interesting to check out Jake LaRavia at Wake. At one point I was hoping he'd come to IU.

It sounds like he needs to step away from the NFL for a bit and get some help. He already did it once in 2018 for mental health.

Thankfully they got him out and are getting him help. This could have ended very tragically.

I'd be very interested for those how can follow his HS season to keep us updated. No offense to the kid but he was a borderline recruit.....under Archie....I'm not exactly sold on him but will trust that he is going to put in the effort to help us on the court.
Thought I read that he broke a toe in practice and will miss the start of the season. Hopefully he can heal quickly and have a good year.

Good points. Its not a good look that he's so easily straying from the flock and making poor decisions. But he's 18/19 and I did hella drugs around then and made horrible decisions. Let's see if he learns from his mistakes, if so, not a big deal long term.
I thought 3 game suspension was for 2nd offense. I really hope this isn't the case as it's only the beginning of his freshman year. I would hope a first offense so soon after arriving here would kind of get you scared straight.

I doubt it. Class of 2019 IU took Armaan Franklin and TJD. A quick look says Inside The Hall projected a 4 man class so it looks like there were two more scholarships available but Archie never seemed to use them all. Fans probably would have killed him for signing an unranked player.
