Didn't see this posted. Sean East named JuCo player of the year. Shot 41% from 3. Supposedly his top 6 schools are Kentucky, Oregon, Missouri, Clemson, South Florida and BYU. Will makes his decision in a couple of weeks.

Didn't find anybody and was wondering which house were Matta's. Bunch of nice older mansions on Meridian St. in that area. One perk of my job is driving through some of the nicest areas around Indy. The houses in W 106th and 116th are so nice. I drive past Jim Irsay's house most days and just down the street is the Lucas Oil people mansion.
From what I can tell from poking around the internet, Matta lives west of Meridian Street just north of Butler in a 7k sq ft home with a zillow estimate of around $1.5 million.

The origin of the curse of me watching IU basketball. I was in the lounge in the barracks in Rota, Spain watching with my roommate. He was from upstate NY (but a UNC Tarheel fan) and cheering on Syracuse. I couldn't bear to see IU lose so I went back to my room late in the game and listened on Armed Forces Radio so I didn't see the shot but went back to watch the celebration. I figured me not watching helped them win so to this day I don't watch unless IU is way ahead. I have occasionally started watching an early season cupcake game but the Hoosiers always seem to struggle until I quit watching, at which time they'll go on a run.

Romeo out for the 9th straight game with a hamstring injury. Apparently no indication that he's close to returning.

With the portal it is easier to take a chance on a kid like Booker. If he doesn't work out and doesn't work hard you can cut bait quickly
Or let someone else take the risk and if he gets it together then you hope he'll want to come back.

Victor with a jump shot
Indystar compared him to Al Durham a while back, probably because he's from Georgia and they're lazy.

Xavier Booker going for the state championship tonight. Apparently no local (Indy) tv but can be streamed at IHSAAtv.org or ballysports.com. Don't know if it's available in all areas or not.

BS on the ND coach for calling a TO after the 1st FT with no time on the clock.
I don't think he needed to call the time out. That second FT was way short and he may have airballed the third one if given a chance. That kid was tight (and justifiably so). Tough situation.

Looking at Bradley’s roster, they have a handful of foreign players. I have no idea if Drew had anything to do with it but I am intrigued by that idea. You can get some steals from Europe and elsewhere.
Being in Peoria for 7 years, hopefully he has good recruiting ties in Illinois and elsewhere in the Midwest (besides Indiana). He needs to get his butt down to get with Trent Sisley and Jack Benter. Josh Harrelson is a massive priority too.
Furthermore, I hope he’s got a good grasp of X’s and O’s. Ideas for game plan, adjustments, and player development are always important.
They had 5 guards transfer off the 20-21 team, including Sean East, who was Romeo's HS pg. Looks like 4 of the guys were named, and subsequently cleared, in a police investigation. (East wasn't part of the investigation) Probably doesn't mean much in regards to what we're talking about but it happened to his team.

Not my info.. its been mentioned somewhere Adams has a connection with Milo Littles current HC.
Edit: or Miro Little, whichever one we are recruiting 🤣🤣
Bradley has a guy from the Helsinki Basketball Academy on their roster. I think that may be Miro Little's team.

They have 9 top 75 kids on their roster...they've always had the talent...
It just took Hubert a while to get them to play together...
Some people questioned the hire, but I think he'll end up being a very good coach for them...
Kind of looks like they started their run when Dawson Garcia left the team.

There is a fan on the UK message board called Cats Illustrated blaming the fans for not being supportive enough as the reason for their struggles. Do you have any long lost relatives in Kentucky, @IU Scott?
I thought of Scott when I saw a UK fan say "There's a portion of the fanbase that goes after the players and it's a real problem that hurts the program." I hope the Brooks family didn't take a peek at RR last night. They roasted KB for saying something like he loved how the team progressed this year, in a post game comment. That didn't go over well.

Thanks for sharing -- that was a really interesting listen. I had always kind of assumed that Archie was bitter toward Indiana after being fired since we haven't heard a peep from him since then, but I didn't get that at all. He picked IU to beat Wyoming, St. Mary's and UCLA. Was really complimentary of X, you could tell he had watched some of our games this year. Talked about possibly going to watch the games in Portland. I thought it was telling too that he said he'd have no problem sitting on the Indiana side but the families sit there so they might not like it. Overall a good listen and it was nice to hear him say some good things about IU and not be bitter (like big bro and everyone's favorite goon Goodman) Sean said we won't get past Wyoming.
I had to laugh at Sean when Archie said Wyoming will be playing in front of 15,000 IU fans, Sean said they'd be booing IU as soon as they fell behind 2-0. Sean was extremely dismissive of IU but he does have a western bias and the B1G doesn't have a great track record of tourney success.

From what i read he wanted to leave a couple of weeks ago but didn't have the money. They said the team downplayed the seriousness of the situation and told players they wouldn't be paid if they left.

Memphis is 6-1 without Emoni Bates. Always have to worry about those teams that grab a couple of highly ranked guys getting it together and becoming dangerous. I wonder if they'll try to work him back in the lineup. I thought I read that he's back with the team after going home for some type of treatment.

Wow, Iowa by 26 over MSU. We may have hope for next year even if TJD and Trace move on. The Hawkeyes lost 2 NBA players in Garza and Wieskamp, and it looks like they might be better this year without them….you never know.
They also lost CJ Fredrick, who transferred to Kentucky.

Looks like we got the makings of another Luke Brown thread.

Nijel Pack (from Indy) with 31 points in Kansas State's 75-60 loss to Baylor. He's shooting 46% from the field, 43.4% from 3 and 87% FT. Looks like IU never offered him, perhaps they were too busy getting Lander to reclassify. I don't know if Pack had any interest in IU but it seems like he would have been worth a shot.

Looks like Jerome Hunter has lost his starting job to Jack Nunge. His playing time has been reduced drastically in the last two weeks.
