  1. Ribs and chicken resting beans still smoking. Oh, and I finally perfected my bbq sauce. Going to make a plate for the lady who considers herself our fairy grandma and her husband. Here it is
  2. Going non traditional for dinner this year. Rack of baby backs, smoked whole chicken, and smoked baked beans with cornbread and slaw. Here is my setup. 14 degrees isnt that cold.
  3. Beautiful voice and woman. Looked so much better with longer hair. Gone too early.
  4. In memory of Mile, he would have enjoyed this song,
  5. This is Miles last interaction with me. We shared our love of music. Just really sad right now. 😔
  6. If one were to choose a .38 special for defense you can get .38 spl+p ammo which packs more punch than a standard. 38 spl load.
  7. I have 2 M&P shields. Compact and subcompact. Which does your daughter have? Good handguns but, me having big hands, the subcompact has its limitations. I'm accurate to about 12 yrds with it which is fine for a self defense weapon. My wife handles it better. I used to care about concealment but anymore not so much. If I carry it's my 1911, Eastwood Gran Torino style. In Indiana you can carry concealed or open. I dont open carry but if it prints I dont really care. I have a stripped lower I'm considering building into an SBR.
  8. If you are thinking about getting a gun and know what caliber you want start buying ammo now, when you can get it. Guns are easy to get. Hell, I got a few I would trade or sell. Ammo is going to be the hard part. There is no inventory right now. Its straight from the production line and out the store door. And the new EPA will try to ban lead. Guaranteed. A gun without ammo is a paperweight.
  9. Completely agree. Saw him and Dierks Bentley in concert at Robert's Stadium in Evansville. Double headliner and had front row tickets. Awesome show.
  10. I would look at a .357 revolver. Can save money and practice with .38 special ammo. And a revolver is a good idea for someone not experienced with semi autos.
  11. Minnesota? Confident that James Naismith, the founder of the game, is the only Kansas coach to have a losing record.
  12. My favorite Gary Allan song, just heard it the other day, it's been awhile
  13. My grandpa on my mom's side built his own house and owned a body shop car repair business, and was into woodworking and playing guitar. I work on my own cars and trucks, do all the work on my house, my own plumbing and electrical. And taught myself to play guitar decently. I think it may be genetic I'm pretty crafty too. Built a three tier cupcake stand for our wedding with a cordless drill and hacksaw and my mechanics socket set in my college dorm room. Still have it. Makes a nice corner peice.
  14. If there were a moat around California and it was it's own country would it be a bad thing?
  15. @FKIM01 Did the annual Turkey game get rescheduled? How will whs do with losing their leading scorer?
  16. Been there and done that more than once. Whitewater rafting in WV. Been to Branson too, and rode those duckie boats whatever their called. Have you seen this? Pretty good mash up I think.
  17. Kacey Musgraves is a very good songwriter, and well a good looking woman. That's all I need.
  18. A Haggard tune that is pretty real for me right now. Although no way In hell I'd ever find myself in California.
  19. Clint Eastwood is my favorite actor of all time. Gene Hackman is a close second. One of my favorite movie scenes ever.
  20. Nice Bucks. Especially the one on the the left. Doesn't happen easily. And nice basement too.
  21. I grew up with both. Divorced family My mom was all fake trees. My Dad would have none of that, real trees. We cut one down every year. This year we went to my wifes parents the day after Thanksgiving. Stopped north of Terre Haute on the way home, at a random tree farm, picked one and I cut it down. Happens to be some sort of spruce. My best friend that I grew up with, his dad sold Christmas trees. Our first Christmas he had a Blue Spruce, which doesnt exist around Southern Indiana. It was prickly and I pussed out on getting it. For 11 YEARS, she hasn't let it go, until now. My arms and legs were scratched up and down. But it was worth it to get her favorite Christmas tree ever. Man the things we go through for our better half. 😁
  22. Not covid related but my grandma had a stroke at 73 and was paralyzed on the right side of her body and bedridden for 10 years before she died. I lost my dad to a heart attack at 45, and I held his hand as he left this world. Lost my only living grandpa the year before. So I guess my worldview is a bit jaded because I've I lost so much in a short period of time. I guess my point is I share your empathy, but its hard to have emotions because I lost so much in such a short time. I've only known 3 people with covid and all mild symptoms thankfully.
  23. My living room is about 90% complete. Had some things get in the way and stretched out the project. Going farmhouse rustic style. Here is our tree, cut it down myself from a tree farm. Notice no tree topper. Rounded the top off and stuffed a bunch or fragrant pinecones in the branches. House is smelling really good right now. All the stockings are for the pets. The ones we have and the ones we lost.
  24. Didnt know where to put this but just invented? Discovered something? We have a wax warmer in almost every outlet and candles all over. Just had a 3 wick burn out with alot of wax left. Stuck it in the oven and poured melted wax into an ice cube tray. Homemade wax melts.
  25. I think it was Albert Einstein who said compound interest was the 8th wonder of the world. The followers of John Bogle have done alot of arithmetic, and have determined you have below %30 return on investment tryinf to time the market. By all means if you have the time and money go for it. It's just alot of work and risk.
