  1. Honestly blows my mind you are doing business with people that far away. I would buy from you if I needed to but we both know that isn't necessary. Keep up the good work.
  2. I'm going to quote myself and say why you need a good sling. If you are dealing with a home intruder and they get close enough to you grab your rifle that sling holds the rifle to your body. They cant take it from you. Also. You can wrap the sling in your non shooting hand and cinch the stock up into your shoulder and your non shooting hand acts as a stand up tripod. Second part, those standard plastic grips seriously suck. If you shoot alot, I have probably put 15,000 rds down range, I replaced that peice of crap after 1 range trip. I like magpul moe pistol grip. $20. If can you screw in a receptacle cover you can replace a pistol grip.
  3. Another thing I just remembered. When buying an AR, pick a rifle with a 1:7 twist rate. 1:7 twist can handle heavier grain ammo and home defense ammo up to 80gr. Cheaper budget models have 1/9 twist which top out about 55gr. It's just money, spend an extra $250-$300 on some quality. Buy once cry once. Or buy 2 or 3 or build your own too.
  4. Seriously, not trying to sound like some anti masker, which btw I am not down with alot of the new lexicon, back to the point, no I dont believe the masks people are wearing are effective. I dont think masks slow the spread and I think slowing the spread is idiotic and hurts more people than it helps.
  5. Yes it is. And obese is considered a BMI over 30. 78% of Americans are overweight not all with BMI over 30. They may not classify as obese, but we are a big time pig time county. Guess who the 2nd fattest counyry in the world Is...Mexico. Why you may ask...corn. That's why.
  6. Yeah, I dont like pouring chemicals into our water supply, especially when they dont work. Our household is moving on to more natural solutions. I'm not some tree hugging hippie type, more of a conservationist like Teddy Roosevelt. Grew up hunting, fishing, and taking care of the outdoors. Our world is polluted enough and I will do my part to not add to that. IU should consider an HSN 101 class. So much good info shared on this site.
  7. I lost my balance just looking at the picture. Looks pretty cool though.
  8. Good timing. Have a pesky tub drain that drano wont fix. Nothing like standing in ankle deep dirty bathwater while showering.
  9. Sturgis mass testing positive cases lower than expected. 26 positive out of 650 all asymptomatic at time of testing.
  10. @IUFLA Couple other things, whatever you choose get a good sling. And if an AR replace that horrible standard plastic grip with something comfortable.
  11. The difference is the little things like gas key and castle nut staking, type of barrel material plus lining if done at all. But mine were put together with the intention of putting alot of rounds downrange.
  12. Now we're in my territory. Colt 6920 is the gold standard. Only reason I dont have one is I like to assemble mine and can get parts of equal quality a little cheaper. But off the shelf it would be one of my top choices. Also recommended checking out Daniel Defense and Bravo Company USA. My first rifle, everything except lower receiver came from Bravo, great stuff. Great thing about AR's is you can have 1 lower and still run multiple different uppers. And you can get a .22lr conversion kit for practice if you dont want a dedicated .22lr upper. If you go that route I would make sure to get one chambered in 5.56. I agree the recoil is more forgiving for the ladies.
  13. I like this chart. Wonder how many are first timers? I've seen articles that try to downplay it as hoarders but I dont think so.
  14. I don"t have alot of experience with AK's yet. But imports are typically better made than US made rifles. A WASR -10 is a pretty popular entry level model that is in that same price range. Buyers guide One thing to look for is you want a chrome lined barrel. Chrome lining protects the barrel from corrosion and are easier to clean, and with an AK, at some point you will probably shoot corrosive ammo. You will also see chrome - moly and maybe nitride coated barrels but its not the same level of protection. Atlantic Firearms is a good website to check out. I would say for your purpose the Century looks solid, and right now the best rifle is the one that is in stock. You always have to option to upgrade or add to what you already have later on.
  15. Late to the the party, but Elvis's Kentucky Rain is one of my favorites. Songs about Rain -Gary Allen
  16. @IUFLA Stay safe friend. Prayers for y'all.
  17. They dont need full sun but should get 6-8 hrs a day.
  18. I will bring this back to the top @IowaHoosierFan I've posted before but I give you my rub recipe
  19. I will never understand people who back in to parking spaces.
  20. Meh, they haven't been finger lickin good in a long time. Give me Popeye's or Zaxby's anytime.
  21. Why is it whenever I have a strain or a sprain it has to be a high grade miserable experience. A grade 1 would be nice every now and then, or better yet not at all. Strained an intercostal in my left rib for the 2nd time this year. RIP sleep for the next 2 weeks. Makes me go hmmmmm... #%@!
  22. I was going to school in Evansville when Katrina hit. That storm was so massive it was still considered a tropical depression when it got up here. Rained for 3 days and nights nonstop. Everything was damp for days because of the rain and humidity.
  23. I question the effectiveness of what people are passing off as masks. These gaiters, bandanas, surgical masks are for the most part not doing anything. Heck, I've seen people go in to a store pulling their t-shirt over their face. I think if we had warehouses full of industrial grade n95's and people fitted and wore them correctly it would make a difference. I do think the double layer homemade ones are effective, unless you put a vent in them. I think it's mostly security theatre and lulls people into a false sense of safety the way we are currently going about it. What I mean by that is if people are wearing a mask then I dont see physical distancing happening as much. Especially since recent info has transmission possibly up to 16 ft.
