  1. They are starting to pull away. I swear that I hate the digging down off a 3 point shooter for a weak double team. Just awful.
  2. When can I get a f---ing foul. I agree Mike.
  3. That was all arm on Kel-el on that replay.
  4. Our saving grace this year may be the rest of the Big Ten being a train wreck.
  5. I hope Woodson gets it figured out. The up and down roller coasters is what got Crean fired though. You have to have program stability. 20-10 should be the floor at Indiana. With NIL, Big Ten exposure, Big Ten money there really just isn't an excuse to be as wildly inconsistent as we are. NIL wasn't in play in the past but the inconsistency issue has plagued us since Mike Davis.
  6. At a certain point you expect that to be most games. Not some or several. If our defenses is too confusing right now, dumb it down. We look awful compared to the actual talent that is on this team. And I didn't expect world beaters out the gate, we all knew there would be growing pains, but in year 3 this team looks like a year 1 complete rebuild.
  7. So this is going to rub people wrong, but we have a recruiting problem. I know Woodson has landed a 5* in every? class but there is more to recruiting than just doing that. Our roster construction has been pretty abysmal and I find it hard to believe that we are recruiting to our initial plans when we are getting so many guys late in the recruiting cycle. I don't think the transfer portal is a great way for us to regularly build a solid team unless we are using it to get one missing piece. When was the last time Rosemund and Hunter got shouted out by a recruit we landed? It is a rough and tumble business and they aren't pulling their weight in development or recruiting IMO.
  8. Cupps and Galloway for the couple minutes Cupps isn't on the floor.
  9. I hope I am wrong but unless the lights go on really quick between now and Sunday, I am expecting a beatdown like the ladies got at Stanford.
  10. Our perimeter D is just....yuck.
  11. Connecticut is the bell weather game. This should be a 25+ point beat down. The past 2 games should have been as well. If this team doesn't have it put together quick, this season can go south in a hurry because we have a tough schedule ahead.
  12. Yeah, but to me that goal has to be adjusted to level of team. "Holding" Army to 64 when a bottom feeding team had just held them to 44 the game before is not a positive.
  13. So here is the thing that has me hitting the panic button a little bit. Yes, it is early, but the last few times we were performing this poorly early in the season against this level of competition, we had some absolutely awful years. I need to see something against Wright State. Individually, these players are far too good to be turning in performances like this. I know that good teams are better than the sum of their parts but these guys should be able to coast to a 20+ point win in games like this. Having one game go rough...ok...but that first game against FGCU should have lit a fire and instead we laid another egg.
  14. He shouldn't have been happy with the defense either. That was not a good team we played.
  15. He will pass and he has had some good assists to guys that are cutting to the rim. I think that we just don't look for the 3 like other programs do. Our bigs get the ball and that is thouhht #1, 2, and 3. How do I get a shot up. Also, with the amount of bigs we have and the inability to find open shooters right now, we should maybe be pounding the ball in there more. (Counter intuitive to everything above, I know.) I know it isn't the modern style but it at least is a style. We did that for a bit in the second half last night and Ware ran off like 8 straight points. I just get the impression that we don't know who we want to be on either end of the floor.
  16. Kaleb played with Cupps, Gunn, Johnson, and Sparks IIRC (so less alphas looking to score). And Banks got his 3 pointer on a quick kick around. The problem with our first string offense is that we generally have 2 shoot first guys on the interior and since we don't run much outside of the pick and roll to free up our guards, our ability to put up 3's is almost entirely reliant on kick outs (or a guy trying to get his and just throwing one up) and those just aren't happening. I am not sure what exactly we are trying to run offensively. Defensively, we have a big team. I don't understand all the over helping on the perimeter. I want your guard to drive into our interior as opposed to throwing up a 3. Drive away. I have shot blockers and bodies galore on the interior. Come on down dude.
  17. The games have started, you will have plenty to keep you distracted.
  18. Cupps is a pest. I mean that in the best way.
  19. I didn't say I agree with him. Just saying I don't find him to be sincere.
  20. He is a sh** stirrer. A year ago he would have been telling you that we need to atop recruiting selfish guys like JHS and instead get team first dudes like Cupps. Now we have Cupps and it is a "Indiana fans only falling all over him because he is white but he is just a midmajor guy..." and that stirs people up. He then gets to monetize that chaos. I think 60% of what Dan says is just blather intended to push engagement. He doesn't care if the engagement is positive or negative.
  21. I think we need to go small the first few games. The guys that led the comeback and then put the game away would be my starting five to get the next game started. I know that means putting the stud 5* on the bench to start but most of these teams we are playing are three guard, drive and dish for three type teams and having 3 bigs scrambling all over the place to try and cover that puts us at a disadvantage.
