  1. My list is: 1. Purdue 2. Everyone else Basically agree with FKIM01 and 02Hoosier. I want to beat everyone but there is just not the same natural energy around games against those other teams. There had to be something else involved, like an issue with their current coach, or they have had our number lately, challenging for Big Ten, coming in highly ranked, etc. I want to beat Purdue's butt because of their mere existence.
  2. To me a rival is a rival no matter how much of a pain in the rear they have been lately (read: winning too many games against us). If my dislike for a team rises and falls based on how well they are performing against Indiana, then they aren't truly a rival to me. We could beat Purdue or Kentucky 100 in a row and I am still hoping to beat them just as bad for #101. Who cares about Wisconsin in the 70s to early 90s? The only thing that really kept the Illinois game somewhat hot in the past 2 decades was them getting pissed an Indiana player changed his mind when a coaching change was made here. I don't like losing any games but in the Big Ten it is Purdue is the rival and everyone else is situational. Outside the BIG, it is Kentucky because they are soulless and evil and everything wrong with college basketball. I have a begrudging respect for Keady and Painter, I generally hate the neighbors to the south.
  3. I would be of the Bob Knight school of chair throwing to dispute officiating....which is why I belong no where near a coaching job.
  4. We are their rival, they are not ours. We have 2 rivals, Purdue and Kentucky. All of the other Big Ten teams are teams you would like to beat and have had periods where they were a big game on the schedule, but Purdue and Kentucky are the only permanent rivals in my mind.
  5. That was my initial reaction, it can't be true...but it is...lol
  6. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/378629002 He gets $15,000 if they beat us or Missouri. Wow. How do you say we are inferior to you and have a major complex about it without actually saying that. If an AD at Indiana put a clause like that in a coach's contract, I would be pissed at the message that sends. Thanks Illinois administration though, I always knew that Indiana was the better program, glad to see them acknowledge it.
  7. Yeah, but Jordan totally fouled that guy after the block IMO.
  8. Always 2 teams...like every game. One team one half and a different team in the other.
  9. Where are all the media heads saying their expectations are too high and their fans are delusional? Asking for a friend.
  10. Need to get deficit down to about 6 or less going into half and we should be good.
  11. https://mobile.twitter.com/CoachAdragna/status/1484895307745964033?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1484908683758817292|twgr^|twcon^s3_&ref_url= This is why you come here, when you come here that will be you (talking about Phin)...or something to that effect. Hell of a recruiting pitch.
  12. If we went 5-0 over the next 5, I would be on cloud 9. Edit to add: if we did that there is a real conceivable road to finishing 13-7 or 14-6 in conference and I think you would be looking at a pretty solid tournament seed.
  13. Phinisee was first guest on Dakich show today. Two things stood out...one, he could not confirm nor deny whether he had fun last night (Dan laughed and said "during the game dude, I know you had fun after). Second, and more important to your post, the coaching staff made sure that they had on every guy's seat some of the "Mackey Court South" BS on every players seat in the lockerroom before the game. That commercial was another example. They had a nice run and fans will be fans, but the administration at Purdue has got the biggest inferiority complex....
  14. This is pretty cool. https://mobile.twitter.com/aldurham01/status/1484352376718823429
  15. Durr is our one big who has consistently hit that like 15 footer as well (Duncomb may have that in him, but smaller sample size). If we are playing 2 bigs, his ability to step out and hit that is really big. If TJD had that shot he would be a really tough guy to guard.
  16. Just so you all know, it has been 321 days since Purdue beat IU.
  17. How many times has it felt that way for us? Like the Iowa game. We basically stop their #1 player and his nobody brother comes out of nowhere and beats us. I guarantee the Purdue scouting report last night was not about stopping Rob and X. They may have said one is a difficult defender and the other you have to stop the drive, but you probably had to go several slots down the notes before you got to them. Trayce, Race, making sure Kopp and Stewart have to put it on floor.... It was nice to be in a position where the other team is asking where the heck that guy came from for once.
  18. That is worrisome. We made it through the Purdue game with him mostly on the bench, but I don't think that is something we want to replicate very often.
  19. The natural balance being restored.
  20. It wasn't luck, I have said it a few times, when this team is on, their ceiling is as high as just about any team in the country. We have just had more mental lapses so our floor is a little lower than those top teams as well. This is a pretty darn good team. One other point, you watch Woodson and you can see why the guys seem to like him so much. Goes out and tells Rob P. before the game that if no one else is in his corner, his coach is. Goes to him twice for the shot to win the game. That kind of confidence in your guys can be infectious. When Woodson got the job, the NBA guys he coached mostly came out of the woodwork to say how cool he was. Kids are going to want to play for that guy and parents are going to want him guiding their kids. You add the Indiana ties and he is just a really good person to have at the top of this program in this moment. The biggest mistake the AD of IU has made in my opinion was not doing this hire years ago. Last night was fun. I let the kids stay up late to watch the game. They were laughing and having a good time about the court being stormed. I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a game that much. It feels like we are turning a corner. I don't have National Title visions or anything, but the last 5 years are going to get further in the rearview. I believe kids are going to want to be a part of this.
  21. We lose this game I am going to lose my shhh
  22. How the F was that on TJD? Worst GD officials in America.
  23. He is good but he carries the ball and chicken wings about every time he touches the ball. Every drive.
