  1. I am going to criticize the staff on something, Phin and Galloway should have started the 2nd half. We should have ridden the hot hands. Instead we blew all the good work of the 1st half in less than 5 minutes.
  2. Because Big Ten officials are the worst in D1.
  3. With TJD in foul trouble, could not ask for better half than that. Here's to hoping we come out in 2nd like the first half at Wisconsin....
  4. Dude is from Lafayette...might be a little motivation to finally stick it to these guys.
  5. With Trayce on bench for probably rest of half, we just need to keep the game within striking distance and hope to make a run at them in the second. If we let it get out of hand while he is out then we are in deep trouble.
  6. Insert well known Bob Knight rant here. I'm tired of ^%$#%*< losing to these %@$@:^#&;#. Get it done guys.
  7. https://www.insidethehall.com/2022/01/19/film-session-nebraska-12/ Hopefully we figure out how to get Stewart more shots.... After a 2-of-3 performance against the Cornhuskers, Parker Stewart is now shooting 46.6 percent from deep. That’s the 57th-best mark for a player in all of Division I college basketball. Additionally, the UT-Martin transfer’s offensive rating of 113.0 ranks third-best on the Hoosiers behind Trayce Jackson-Davis (119.8) and Race Thompson (116.3). Yet, his usage rate of 13 percent is just the 10th-highest on Indiana’s roster.
  8. It was retaliation for the T that Trayce got earlier. The BIG has suffered for its officiating for years IMO. These teams are allowed to beat the holy hell out of each other from January to mid March and then they reach the tournament and find out that the rest of the country isn't allowed to play basket-hackle-ball. There are certain programs in this league that if they aren't fouling, they cannot play defense. (Looking at you MSU, Purdue, and Wisconsin).
  9. The second half has been our bugaboo on the road. Played them even after half. That can get it done against a team like Nebraska, it won't against most of the BIG.
  10. This game is going to be all about the second half for me. IIRC, we have had the lead at halftime of each of our road losses. We need to show up the second half.
  11. That's fine. Room to disagree. And "good" is a nebulous concept anyway. I think this team when playing at their full potential could be a Sweet 16 type of team depending on matchups. I don't think we are likely to be that because of just some of the boneheaded lapses we have in most games.
  12. I didn't say we are really good, I said we had the potential to be really good. We had Wisconsin down 20 at their place. When we are on, we are good. The horses we have on the team have the ability, they just do not have the focus. It is like I said, our ceiling is about as high as any team in that 15 to 20ish range in the country. However, we have a lower floor because of all the things that have been mentioned.
  13. I think that is a microcosm of the entire team. We have the potential to be a really good team. And when we are playing to that potential, we are a really tough out. Our defense is elite. On the flip side, we have a nasty habit of brain farting in almost every game. Just stretches of boneheaded plays. There were a couple times last night where we had multiple empty trips in a row. Just handed the ball to Iowa. So this is shaping up to be a frustrating season because our ceiling is on par with the Top 20 teams in the country. When we are on, we are really good. The problem is that our floor is much lower than those teams because we have not shown the ability to consistently keep that high level of play. That is especially true when we are on the road.
  14. They are experienced in losing...particularly on the road. None of the guys on the team who have experience came from a program that was winning a bunch of games...except maybe Durr (I really don't know about South Florida). So our experienced players are just continuing to perform to their experience.
  15. Yeah that is another we let get away. If this was last year I would be mad but just kind of chalk it up to "oh well...." because I did not think that team had any amount of "it" in them. This one does. So when they basically beat themselves it is irritating as all get out.
  16. The problem is that you can't bring in the entire bench at the same time and expect them to do well...not consistently. They are being set up to fail. Galloway looks better with the first unit then the second. Same with Phinisee. Trayce or Race should be on the floor at all times. If Bates comes in he should be spelling Kopp or Stewart. He shouldn't be the second? scoring option on the floor ever. (Rob, Galloway, Bates, Durr, Geronimo...where is the scoring supposed to come from?)
  17. So understand that this is coming from the standpoint that I believe we have a pretty good team..... This team from the staff on down to the players can be so (expletive deleted) dumb sometimes. We should have known Iowa would press. We looked ill prepared. We need to take the wholesale lineup change out behind the barn and put it out of its misery. We need to tighten the rotation. We need one of the PGs to step up and be a consistent steadying influence. Thise 2 guys have far too much experience between them for all the just terrible, stupid, unforced errors they seem to pull out of their (rear) on the road. If our bigs are going to get fouled, they need to be able to hit more than 50% of their foul shots more often then not. I know the percentages say upper 60's but I will be (expletive deleted) if we don't go 50/50 almost every time it seems to really count. I am really more irritated about this then I think I ever was when Miller was here because this team is actually good enough to do something this year if they would just get out of their own way. We had Wisconsin, Penn State, and Iowa and did not finish them off. I don't care how "good" those teams are or are not. Every single one of those games should have been a win with this team and we blew it. These guys are too good for us to be playing moral victories. We should have won those games and the expectation needs to be that we are going to win those games. 24 (give or take) turnovers. I'd run everybody in the program until they wished they were dead. This Archie Miller, Tom Crean up and down bull shhh needs to become a thing of the past like yesterday. This team is too damn talented to be this damn inconsistent.
  18. This is going to be 3 winnable road games where we just totally crapped our pants. No excuse to turn the ball over 20+ times and no excuse to lose this game. I turned it off around the 5 minute mark. This team has the ability to be good, but they play so $*&%@! dumb sometimes and it just kills them.
  19. Yeah I absolutely hate the hockey line change. Hate it.
  20. Didn't get to watch but I like that score.
  21. I think all that played a part, the admin just decided to coast on past accomplishments thinking Indiana was going to Indiana and it hurt us. Also we were not committed to playing the recruiting "game" of the late 90's up through NIL. I think we may have dipped our toe in from time to time, but the programs we used to compare ourselves too went all in.
  22. We all are. There are things about the culture of the program I just feel are broken right now. That is hard to establish in one year with a host of new guys. We don't go out and win because none of these players have ever been part of a winning program. They don't know how to do it IMO.
