Well…..in the first 12 minutes my wishes were 0-3

Wish TJD, Kopp and Stewart had played better but it’s also nice that we are able to be ahead without those 3 guys, that each scored over 20 against the Cuse, doing squat this half.

Yep, at this point when we play tough, physical teams X is a much better option for us than Rob or KL.

Love this lineup out of the timeout. I’m 99% sure Crean and Arch would have gone back to the original starting lineup after catching up.

In Woodys last video conference he said he had to find some minutes for Leal but I’m still kind of surprised he found them for him in the first half. This could impact Leals playing time for the rest of the year.

Out of this timeout I hope Woody keeps running with the subs the way he runs with the starters.

Agree. It was unfair to Penix to be trotted out for the Iowa game as I can’t imagine that he looked ready in practice. From the get go he did not look comfortable, looked scared to get hit (can’t blame him after all the injuries he has suffered), was not mobile, was throwing off his back foot, etc etc. It will be interesting to see what his future plans entail. I would think he has come to the realization (but who knows) that the NFL is not in his future which could impact his decision regarding what he does this upcoming season. Wish him the best in the future, and feel bad for him that he is injury prone, as he seemingly has been nothing but an all around positive for the program and a good kid.

Thanks for the info… Was it just the father having doubts about Sheridan the season previous to this one or did he indicate the players also had their doubts? Any mention of Hiller?

Morgan did a long podcast interview in 2019 with the Hoosier Hysterics. They brought up Devontes suspension and Morgan said Devonte had come to his apartment and told him he was going to fail a test the next day. Morgan said it was mid-terms so he thought Devonte was talking about an academic test so he told him he couldn’t help him and that he should reach out to their academic advisor. Devonte replied that it wasn’t that kind of test and that Timmy G (Garl) said he had to come in for a random test the next day and Devonte told Morgan knew he would fail. Morgan told Devonte to “get ahead of it” and come clean with Garl and the staff prior to the test. I was surprised that Morgan went into that detail but I guess he just assumed everyone knew what had happened. Morgan said he felt let down by Devonte but he seemed to like him and all the guys. He said the rumors about issues with Romeo and the team not getting along were false and that Romeo was a good guy. Morgan speculated that Jerome and Damezi would surprise a lot of people the following season but, to say the least, that obviously did not happen. It was an interesting interview and Morgan sounded like a good dude.

I agree that they would not say anything officially but things can come out if they want and/or I would guess Logan could say something. That being said, the reason for Devontes suspension was also kept quiet. I didn’t know what happened for sure until I heard an interview with Morgan after the season was over.

I never knew we were in the same “frat”. I have little doubt that Logan’s fight was the result of some guys having mullet envy. 3 game suspensions are frequently due to “getting high” (like Devonte’s). If it was indeed a fight you would think that would be acknowledged rather than having people assume it was pot.

Yep. X has been better than 2-1 the last three games and had 9 assists to 3 TO’s in the Syracuse turnoverpalooza. He needs to control his fouls as I think we would have beaten Cuse if he brought the ball up at the end of the first OT (it sounds like other players botched that last play but X probably would have reacted/recovered by taking the ball to the rim). Think he will have a big game vs NB.

I also am not logging them but agree that many of the to’s do not seem to be the result of pressure which gives me hope that it should be relatively easy to clean up. Can’t expect to all the sudden change the turnover situation but hopefully we don’t go over a still poor 14-15 Saturday (getting 26 last game has really lowered my bar ).

Not a shocker but our YTD assist to To numbers are 116-118. Yikes. Miller Kopp, at 9 assists to 3 TO, is the only player with a 2-1 ratio or better. X is next best, from a percentage standpoint, at 32-18. Really interested to see if we clean that up Saturday.
