  1. Hadn't heard that. Could very well be, but I was referring to Leal more overall than just the PU game.
  2. I'm conflicted on Woody. On one hand he doesn't hesitate to get in the grill of a player if there is a screw up. On the other hand it appears (to me) he takes losing far too easily. In the NBA you lose a boat load of games each season. But you also play 82(?). Gallo showed more remorse about losing than Woody did, and that was disappointing to me. With the game so lopsided in the last 10 minutes, I'm surprised Leal & Sparks didn't get playing time. And several of us have pointed out that we don't have a true leader on or off the court. Closest contestant would be Leal in my book, but he doesn't get playing time to lead on the court except during timeouts. And I've seen him try.
  3. After last night's game, I thought we could all use a little levity.... Struggling to get your wife's attention? Just sit down and look comfortable. Shout-out to everyone who can still remember their childhood phone number but can't remember the password they created yesterday. One minute you're young and fun. And next, you're turning down the stereo in your car to see better. Not in jail, not in a mental hospital, not in a grave—I'd say I'm having a good day.
  4. Because they didn't take into account the refs. That would put them in the top 5.
  5. So can Edey...he just can't make them.
  6. And he knows how to block out !! Right now, the only guy that's demonstrated it consistently.
  7. Ware will be in foul trouble, along with Malik within the 1st 10 minutes. Since we're all "fantasizing" about how to play Edey. If you take Cupps and double team Edey in front, Edey will run him over. After 3 times, you MIGHT get a foul called on Edey, but most likely they would call it on Cupps for blocking. I agree you don't beat Edey by playing his game.
  8. 59° here today fellas and 60° tomorrow. Then the "bottom" falls out. Down to 51° & 46° over the next couple of days. (Don't miss the midwest weather at all)
  9. And it's 8 against 5. Clark lowered a shoulder going into the lane, knock the IU player 180° and back 10' and no call. Tons of moving screens by Iowa, no call. And on, and on, and on.
  10. We've got one of the tallest teams in the nation, much less the B10, and yet we get out rebounded by MN in a home game. Still harping on our inability to block out on the defensive glass. Watched the game again and came up with a whopping 10 total block outs by IU players (for the entire game). No wonder MN got 13 Offensive rebounds and picked up 14 points as a direct result of that. 14 points because we haven't figured out how to put a body on a guy to get a rebound. I learned that in 8th grade, and it's not tough. MN guys were blocking us out far better than we did them when they were on offense! And we're only sending 2-3 guys to the defensive glass. Most of the time its only 2.
  11. Personally I don't see X as a true leader. To me, he's more of a "foreman" when on the court. His issues off the court certainly don't exude leadership. Now...to X's defense, maybe his off court antics would be more like T Shannon alleged offense(s) if not for Woody's guidance vs a dumb speeding stunt, resisting arrest, curfew and others. We don't know. I have also noticed in recent games that Gabe is taken the initiative in several huddles to "lead" (at least that's my interpretation). Gallo leads by example, and plays harder than anybody. But I don't think he's a consistent vocal leader. TJD was CEO, Patton, and a real vocal leader. We don't have that on this team...yet IMO.
  12. MM for MVP, and another "at-a-boy" for Gallo. 10 points, 2:3 from downtown, 7 assists (again) with NO T.O.s. And 4 rebounds.
  13. Anybody got a picture? I've got a blank peacock screen
  14. Haven't heard of 1 business that is closed though, except for "day-care". So that means there will be a ton of absentees at work tomorrow because no one is around to take care of the chil-ren.
  15. No, I'm in western SC, almost to Augusta, GA.
  16. They cancelled school here tomorrow, because it's supposed to be "windy" (25-40 mph) and ½"-1" rain. Before you know it they'll cancel school because the sun is coming up.... No wonder kids are weak...as well as the parents. Oh...and them temp? 70°
  17. That's why I give the guy/gal in front me all of 1 second to go before I light them up with my horn
  18. It's because "we don't shoot enough 3's !!"
  19. SIAP, but the entire series of Jack Reacher from Lee Child. Once I'd pick up any of the books, I'd read it for 12-16 hours straight. And agree on the Brad Thor series of Scott Horvath as well. Great.
  20. I too, thought it was a lousy and incorrect call, but....the female color commentator mentioned that the protected arc doesn't apply to women's game. I found that extremely odd. Not even sure if it's true. Maybe the gal was trying to cover for the officials. I don't know. But if it is true, then it would have been a charge on Sara.
  21. Agree. But I think in the last 2 games I've seen a noticeable change in CJ. He looks much more relaxed, dialed in on D, and is letting the game come to him on the Offensive end.
  22. Just for $hitz and giggles, I rewatched the game and took a tally of the number of "box outs" (not rebounds) that we did. What is depressing is that Gallo had as many box outs as Reneau. Here's my tally: Gallo 2 Reneau 2 Gunn 1 X had 1 Mgbako 1 Ware 4 That's disgraceful. No wonder we got out rebounded by 22. If Woody doesn't fix this, it'll be a short season.
