  1. Re: Sara's "double dribble". I too, thought the first reach and one dribble to get control of a loose ball, was not an official possession and dribble. The drive (with multiple dribbles) IMO was her first and only official dribble. Moore-McNeal was accosted by 3 MSU players, probably fouled at least 4-6 times and the dumbass refs call a jump ball. Camera angle was 25' away and it was multiple fouls plain as day.
  2. Prolly got more scratches from the bushes than door dings he might have gotten if parked correctly.
  3. I’ve always been partial to middle of turn 4. You can see them coming into 3, in the short chute, thru 4, down the home straight and into 1. IMO
  4. I don't doubt his resume, and I'll admit it is impressive. But I've yet to see him verbalize 1 syllable the entire season. If he's a "big picture" guy and not an active assistant, seems to me he shouldn't be on the bench during a game. But...not a big deal, just an observation. Thanx for providing the resume on him.
  5. I'm still trying to figure out what the old fart that sits to Woody's right on the bench does to benefit the team. Or is he just Woody's pal?
  6. Gallo for his leadership, defense, and oh yeah...25 points, 19 in the 2nd half. 4 assists, a steal, and some boards. At-a-boys for Leal, Malik, Ware. GFY to the refs. 40+ fouls.
  7. Personally I think Leal should get Cupps minutes and start, let Cupps come off the bench to give Leal a blow.
  8. This is a real easy one. Installing a "Catch can" on your engine to capture contaminants, and residue solids from your engine, and not recirculate them back into the intake manifold to go thru the engine again. (keeps you engine much cleaner internally). (You mechanics and skip this paragraph.) Part of the engine's pollution control system includes a PCV valve on top of your rocker arm covers and diverts/recirculates unburned exhaust gases (and other stuff) back into the engine to get mixed with your clean fuel and burned again in the cylinders. Depending on the engine, age, an type of driving, there can be significant amounts of "junk" that goes back into the engine. Most of witch are not beneficial to the long term health of your pistons, rings, cylinders, and other downstream components like catalytic converters, etc. By installing a Catch Can, you re-direct those PVC gases and particulates into the catch can where they settle to the bottom, and cleaner air recirculates back into the intake manifold. It's an easy install, and inexpensive. Took me less than 20 minutes. You remove an OEM hose, and install 2 more. One hose from PVC valve to catch can, one hose from catch can to intake manifold. You're essentially adding a loop with a filter between the PVC valve and the intake manifold. I plan on keeping this vehicle until the wheels fall off, so keeping the engine as clean as possible will extend the life of it. Here's a pic of the finished install. The catch can and the 2 hoses.
  9. Along the same lines pertaining to people in the aisles, I absolutely hate it when someone is leaving the grocery store, Walmart, wherever, and then stop right in the middle of the exit door with people behind them. Most of the time they have their heads in the phones (same thing as up their rears). No idea of what's going on around them, or all the people they disrespect by this action.
  10. I'll sync Fisch in, and mute the TV guys. Thanx for the warning!
  11. Way back when, I was a ref for basketball. We were taught that since there are 3 officials, you have specific sq ft areas that you are responsible for. How many times have you seen a call made from a ref that is the furthest away from the play? More often than you think. Not his responsibility to make the call. He's calling a play outside of his zone of coverage. But refs these days watch the play on the ball more than fans do, instead of watching what's going on in their area of responsibility.
  12. Wisconsin looking pretty good @ Neb. Defense is stifling.
  13. The guys that voted have their opinions on what constitutes and MVP, as you said. Here are the games where Leal got enough votes to place in the top 3 for those particular games: (remember this is just for Jan + 2 Dec B10 games) NEB Rutgers ILL Iowa Gallo for instance got votes for MD, MN & PU
  14. Guess it depends on your point of view. Leal ALWAYS gives 100% in a game, plus leadership. Even in a loss he'll get votes because of his effort (at least IMO). You have a starter, or 3, that play horrible in a game and Leal comes in and produces while he's in there, even for a couple of minutes, and guys will vote for him. He won't garner the most votes, but he'll get some which gives him 3rd place. I was a little surprised to see where he landed overall, but personally couldn't be happier for the young man. I just wish he'd come back next year, but that's a pipe dream.
  15. Hope the trend continues. Need to bring Wisky back to the pack.
  16. Now multiply that by 100, and you'll be just behind all of the PUke posts....
  17. He's one point behind Gallo on the weighted scale. I track top 3 players receiving votes. Leal has gotten more 3rd place finishes than Gallo. Gallo didn't place in the top 3 for many games. With Leal's win for Iowa, that was 3 points for 1st. 2nd place gets 2 points, 3rd place gets 1. So if you're MVP for a game, you make up a bunch of ground on those guys that don't place in the top 3. Leal has rec'd points in 4 games he's played in, and Gallo only 3. Hope that helps explain it a little.
  18. I audit playing time of the roster. Any player that did not play in the game, the votes are not counted in the tally. So any vote that Leal got when he didn't actually play that game the votes were dismissed and not logged. Which makes his appearance in the top 4-5 players getting votes, even more impressive (to me at least).
  19. Hey IUFLA...how about re-naming this topic "PUke thread"? While I understand that a couple PU guys come here, and one is civil, the other not so much, but they have completely hijacked this thread. Not saying they shouldn't post here, but this is supposed to be a B10 thread, not a PU thread. Can't remember how long it's been since I've seen comments about other B10 schools, or at least more than 1-2. And maybe just for kicks, we should start a "Ref's suck" thread to illustrate all of the horrible calls thru-out the B10. In any case, I guess I'll just ignore this particular thread from now on, because I don't really give a rats ass about PU basketball, and all the debate about Lurch.
  20. He did put the main loudmouth in his place once during the interview.
  21. The January voting results for Jan (all B10 games) also includes the 2 Dec B10 games with MD & MI. Under the "weighted" voting results, Malik & MM are tied for 1st. 1 point behind is Ware, and Gallo is next, several points back. But it might surprise some of you that even with Leal's limited playing time for the month, he's only 1 point behind Gallo. Under the "winner takes all" (no weighting), Reneau & Ware are tied with 2 games each. 6 other players each have 1 winning vote. And for those that want the "total votes received" category, Ware is 1st, Malik a distant 2nd, and Leal a very close 3rd (4 votes down). I'll do another update for the B10 thru Feb at the end of Feb. Post any questions you have and I'll try to answer them.
  22. I think we run them ragged. Attack the press to score, not to break the press, and run the pi$$ out of them.
  23. Anthony Leal is on the HH podcast as of this morning. Interview starts @ 27:40
