I would guess our turnover numbers in that span are not good, too. Hope we can figure both issues out with X out. He was in foul trouble early one of those games and missed most of the other two with injuries; so far, looking like it’s going to be a pretty big loss for the team.

I think you nailed it. In those last 3 games referenced in the tweet, IU's opponents have stolen the ball a combined 29 times. 17 of those by Kansas alone!

I should just control C and V my post on Gunn from last summer. Easily the least talked about Indy area recruit I can remember. Kid just scores. I kept saying Greg Graham when we signed him. From what I've seen much further along.....huge opportunity for the kid.

Considering Greg Graham is one of my all time favorite Hoosiers (definitely my favorite player on my favorite IU teams), I would be thrilled if Gunn turns out to be as good as he was.

I remembered reading this over the summer...

"It’s also important to understand who Jalen is as a person, too. Angel Schifino said Jalen is “a very mature kid,” “very neat” and “an old soul,” among other descriptions. One time, they were at a red light and there was a woman who wasn’t wearing any shoes. Her legs and feet were swollen. So Jalen went into the trunk and gave the woman a pair of his new Kobe’s. The woman cried."

Made me well-up a little when I first read it...

I remember reading the first part of that statement on a message board but didn't see the part about him giving shoes to that lady. Good for him, very considerate (and classy) thing to do.

    Hello all -

The forum will be offline Monday evening into Tuesday morning.  We are applying some software updates to fix the recurring, annoying accessibility problems that some users are encountering.  Our goal is to ensure we're back up for the Tuesday PM IUBB game.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo........

Oh, wait, it's to fix the issues? Never mind, that's great news!

Trying to piece things together so I'll just ask you guys. So he has a history of this behavior back to Tech days? Or no?

Reason I ask is I saw in his contract with Texas they can fire him for cause for any behavior,etc....that puts the school in a bad light. Only reason this is odd to me is that A) Texas must have known about past and B) College Coaches contracts are usually so one sided in favor of coach I'm surprised they would agree to it.

I saw that that clause is standard for UT coaches. Probably standard at most schools.

If that's true why has there now been a restraining order put out?

There is a protective order active until at least Feb. 10, 2023, the terms of which prevent Beard from being within 200 yards of the alleged victim or the residence at which the 9-1-1 call was made. Beard is also not allowed to carry a firearm at this time. Additionally, while Beard is permitted to communicate with the complainant in the case, he's strictly prohibited from doing so in any type of threatening or intimidating manner.

Do you know if the restraining order has to be requested by the victim or if a restraining order is something the DA automatically asks for with this charge?

One of the things I've had to learn in the last year is to talk about the things I've spent years burying and forgetting about. It seems to be helping.

He wasn't always like that. When grandpa (his dad) died in 2005 he never really got over it. Even with all the crap there were still better days.

I had an abusive stepdad for a few years, and it was the same thing. He changed pretty suddenly and even then there were good times. Even s**theads typically don't act like s**theads all the time.

I wonder of anyone has taken the time to re-rank the conference schedules now that we are almost a 1/4 of the way into the season?

Maryland is certainly better than expected.   Purdue as well.

    Torvick rankings has

    Purdue 6

    IU 8

Maryland all the way to 12

    Illinois 14

    Iowa 26

    Ohio St 30

    Rutgers 40

Msu 42 (guess the computers didn't value their Kentucky win that high

    Penn st 44

    Wisconsin 49

    Michigan 69

    Nebraska 94

    Northwestern 96

    Minnesota 180

Good question. This hasn't been done as far as I know. It would certainly be interesting to see and a much better indicator than being based on preseason rankings.

Website won't allow me to scroll through other pages and all that... so I can't find the NIL thread.... this post can be moved to that thread if needed...

But Dolson sent an email yesterday.... asking for donations to NIL .....

So... lemme get this straight-- you just signed a TV contract that is going to up your profits to 80-100 million a year, you charge insane prices at events for concessions, IU itself is worth over $3 billion, but yet... we, the fans, have to shell out more money for these athletes to have NIL money? lol

Like I get it.. I'm sure I'm going to hear the "well that money isn't allowed to go there" BS lines, and whatever about that. But it is laughable to hear those numbers and then get emails like that from university athletic directors. Out of touch with reality would be a good way to describe an email like that.

I think I would prefer these athletes to be university employees.

If you think that's crazy, just think about how crazy it was just a short time ago before the NIL where the athletes weren't allowed to make money in any way outside of their scholarships on anything remotely associated with sports or their likeness. Yet they saw how much money the schools were bringing in due to their play. Walk-ons and partial scholarship athletes had it even worse.

I haven't seen the flop technical called on any team other than IU so far of the games I've watched.

They could've called one against UNC this game. Instead, they rewarded the flop when they called a foul on Race and reward UNC with 3 free frows.

For me as long as we are scoring I don't care how we get those points. We scored 77 points which is the first time we scored under 80 so it doesn't bother me if we don't shoot a lot of 3's. We shot 57% overall which is the most important thing.

They could have easily broken 80 with just a few more shots that normally fall. Reneau had at least 2 shots that he normally hits pop back out of the basket, for example.
