Nothing to say….the results speak for themselves.

Lurker's premise was even if TJD and Race leave, there is the potential to do what IA did this year, so Race isn't an option. Bates needs to be a key player next year, but I'd be shocked if he shoots like Bohannon, who is the all-time career 3 point shooter in the B1G. Bates is currently below 29% from three and 38% from two. He did shoot 38% from 3 at IMG, so there's potential to improve.
Bohannon shot 42% from three as a freshman.
But Bates could become a Murray/Davis type player….just saying it’s a possibility based on potential.

On our returning roster, assuming that scenario, who are Keegan and Chris Murray and Jordan Bohannon?
JHS and probably a couple of transfers

And the legend grows!

Wow, Iowa by 26 over MSU. We may have hope for next year even if TJD and Trace move on. The Hawkeyes lost 2 NBA players in Garza and Wieskamp, and it looks like they might be better this year without them….you never know.

Can this really be happening again? Another season lost. Somebody wake me up from this nightmare, please!

Yes it was A. M., but a much different problem on last years team. Most of last year’s players didn’t enjoy playing together as a group due to A.M.
Fair enough, but the results are the same regardless.

5 in a row…deja vu? I guess it wasn’t all Archie.

Losing programs with rotten cultures have a knack for finding ways to lose. I'm sorry, but if you're an NCAA tournament team you HAVE to win when you're up 4 with the ball and 1:30 left. Take any team from the field of 68 and I bet more than half of them win in that scenario.
Been saying this for awhile now, but I'm not sure this program ever gets fixed.
We absolutely gave that game away at the end of regulation. Plenty of blame to go around, but Race throwing that ball away when we’re up by four with 1:30 to go is inexcusable, and our All American disappeared in crunch time. On to next year.

TJD has disappeared.

We seem to find ways to lose.

Where’s our All American?

Heaven help us…we just gave the game away.

We have a chance to go up by 6 and we throw it away!

Could we actually win this game?

Crunch time….what we got?

That possession is exactly what I’m talking about. Trayce forces a bad shot while X is wide open at the top of the key.
Can’t take advantage of a great opportunity to extend the lead!

No other way to say it….our offense is anemic. Our so called shooters are head cases. Leal IS a good shooter, and he steps to the line for two and doesn’t even come close.

i look forward to every IU basketball game. always have always will. i do not think we will win tonight.
Same here….I’m 68 and holding out for banner #6. Not the most important thing in life, but it sure would be nice!

Honestly, I had zero expectations this year. I was pleased when we hired Woodson, but didn’t really see a significant upgrade in talent, so I was just hopeful with the return of TJD and a new coaching staff, we might win enough games to make the NCAA tournament and bring a little excitement back to the program. That may still happen, but it looks less likely with each game. The suspensions/loss at Northwestern hurt more than most think, but I give CMW credit for doing what he thought was right for the good of the program.
Going forward it’s all about recruiting….we need talented players that can shoot and create on their own when necessary, and not shy way from the big moments. Easier said than done in today’s environment, but it all starts with coaching and team success. Most of today’s players are focused on 2 things - playing in the Tournament and making it to the NBA. I’m confident we have the coaching/leadership to do both.

Try being in your 50's and remembering 75, 76, 81 and 87. 2002 doesnt even come to mind. lol.
How about being 68 and remembering 75, 76, 81 and 87, and all the great players along the way that refused to lose. Johnny Davis refused to lose last night, and that’s why Wisconsin won the game. We may sneak into the Dance this year if we can squeeze out a couple more wins, and maybe win a game or two. The last few games have been disappointing, but I had zero expectations this year, and believe CMW and staff will turn this around in a couple of years and get us back on top of the B10.

Johnny Davis beat us single-handedly. How do you let a guy take over in your own gym in a game you absolutely have to win?

Let’s go TJD…these free throws are huge.

Totally agree, especially about recruiting. All of these young men have been star athletes most of their lives beginning with youth leagues, school ball and then AAU, and competing and WINNING matters. For the handful of truly elite ones playing in the Tournament is important, but their primary goal is the NBA, and they want to go to a school that puts them in the best position to do that, and results matter. Trust me because I speak from experience, the average fan has no idea how hard these kids work and the type of dedication/training it takes to be considered a top prospect.
