There's a Michigan article out speculating that Bidunga maybe you considering reclassifying to 2023, and the Ann Arbor could be a possible landing spot:

just read an article today on TDH and it stated very specifically that Flory will NOT be reclassifying.  whatever information they got is bad.  If Ware is going to do his thing this year and move on, Flory will have his spot and plenty of minutes.

No Mount, Wooden, Damon, Sichting or Henderson.

No Brad Miller, Steve Alford or Troy Lewis.

No James Blackmon or Jay Edwards.

No Romeo Langford who's quite a bit better than nearly all you listed. (And I agree with your list)

Ok I got to know which guys Romeo is “quite a bit better than”… I think he was massively overrated myself.

IF this list is HS ONLY... you're dead wrong. Dude was a flat killer.

46(in three Qs) as a SO in the semi state vs. Southport with Brunk+Scruggs .... New Albany won a state title that year.

4 sectionals

2 regionals

1 semi state

1 state

Teams that beat him- undefeated Ev Reitz as FR (state runner up), Castle as JR with Nunge+Hemenway) in the night game of the regional as a JR (Romeo had 44 in that game)...

As a SR in the semi state against undefeated Warren Cent (state champ).. on a last second shot.

5th on the All Time list in Indiana in scoring... and he didn't do it at Blackford...

If he's outside of your Top 10 you're lying, it's arguable he's Top 5.

6'5 210lbs.. who guarding him on this list?

But just flat better than in HS? All of them but Bailey..I assume Mount/Alford will have an arugment but they aren't half the mismatch Romeo was in HS.

By the end.. he might have a better pro career then a lot of them, as well.. or considerably more money with one more contract.

Icon/Legend status wise few, few HS players compare to the frenzy/mania that surrounded that kid from 7th grade on.

He compiled most of those wins and points against teams in southern Indiana, which is, no offense, a different brand of HS basketball than the current metro Indy area, or the 60s-80s NCC era that Alford, Lewis, Edwards, Blackmon, etc played in.

Talent just isn’t as widespread down there as it is in metro Indy. You’ll have 3 top 10 teams in the same sectional here.

You do realize that New Albany also played many games against other top talents across this region of the country while Romeo was there, right? Not just the HHC, who are legitimately considered one of the top HS conferences in the state.

The HS stuff is all pretty subjective and hard to have a lot of conclusive proof one way or another. He certainly had all the individual accolades you could want in HS, his team success was pretty good too.

Not even just looking at the guys that were in the original discussion of Romeo, but how does he compare to some other recent guys with his type of cache in terms of high school careers - guys like Oden, Conley, Gordon, Yogi, and McRoberts. I'd probably put Oden, Conley, and Yogi as clearly in a class ahead of Romeo in terms of high school careers, if for nothing else because of the winning those guys did.

Romeo had the really high ranking, but that isn't really about what he accomplished as it is what they thought he would accomplish post high school. To that end... he's underwhelmed. It may not be all his fault, but Romeo hasn't lived up to the hype coming out of high school. It'll be interesting to see what type of looks he gets after this season in terms of contracts.

Most southern Indiana players have underwhelmed recently… including Romeo, Lander, Kaufman…

Maybe we could take this arguement to the HS basketball thread…it clearly won’t be settled quickly and we are getting a little off track.
