The Buckeyes come into Assembley Hall having lost 6 of their last 7 and sit at 11-9 overall and 3-6 in Big 10 action, Chris Holtmann is in his 6th year at OSU (183-118)

Brice Sensabaugh might be OSU's second straight Big 10 Freshman of the year. He's a 3 level scorer that just has a knack for finding the basket. He's shooting 49% from 3 in conference play. Decent rebounder too, but not a good defender.  Oklahoma State Transfer Issac Likekele who has has started the last two games, is not much of an outside threat, but a stout defender. Zed Key mans the middle, and is a good post scorer and has developed somewhat of an outside game, but he's a bumper and grinder that has been hindered by a shoulder ailment. West Virginia transfer Sean McNeil is another oustside threat shooting 40% from 3. Freshman Bruce Thornton is the PG and also shoots over 40% from the arc.

Off the bench the Buckeyes have Justice Sueing back after missing all of last year with an injury, but he's not the same player he was 2 years ago.. Wright State transfer Tanner Holden is a 50% 3 point shooter who was a volume scorer for the Raiders. Freshmen Roddy Gayle and Felix Okpara see double digit minutes off the bench as well.

Ohio State is 1st in the conference in 3 point % at 42%. 3rd in ORtg and 7th in DRtg. They do have a dynamic offense that  moves the ball well when they're on, but I sensed some chemistry issues in their loss at Nebraska, where Sensabaugh missed his first 8 shots and the Buckeyes had to dig out of a hole. There was some bad body language by the upper classmen during that one.

Very winnable game for us, but as we've seen any team in the Big 10 can beat you. Ohio State is 1-4 on the road in the Big 10, and Sensabaugh hasn't been quite as effective on the road as he has been at home.

Play our D, go to Trayce A LOT as he dominated Key in our first meeting with the Bucks last year. Hopefully our outside shooting comes back a little and we can come out with a home win...

1901’s unofficial Injury/Depth report

OSU at least plays about 9 deep in their games from what I’ve seen. While they are 11-9, they are talented and a lot of their losses have been moderately close in their 6 out of 7 skid (Largest loss was to Illinois by 9). But what I have seen from them, they are not a lay over.

Sensabaugh is such a talented player and will be tough to go up against, Thornton is shooting 42% from the 3, Likekele will likely start again, McNeil is known as a knock down shooter, Key has had his moments, but is completely banged up. Sueing can provide a spark off the bench, but is prone to fouls a lot. Some other guys are G Holden, G Gayle, and C Okpara

Injury report:

F/C Zed Key is probable to play, although is recovering from an injury and recent a Knee injury from Iowa. His mobility was very limited in the Illinois game.

C Felix Okpara is currently questionable for Saturday, as he was seen in a boot after OSU’s loss to Illinois

Should be a win, but they have enough talent no to take them lightly. Especially since they have that cornered, wounded animal thing going on.

This is a great opportunity to get two games above 0.500 in conference as well as to get back in the top 25. In spite of their recent slide, OSU has a decent NET ranking too so it would be a good win in that regard as well.

The Assembly Hall should be rocking and I look for them to come out with a fire and focus.

Currently, a win would be considered as a Q1 win, since OSU is 27 in the NET rankings

It would be nice if they started winning a little and stayed in that category

edit: AFTER we beat them, of course

OSU is vulnerable but IU has to give a better effort overall than what they put up against Minny. The home crowd will be important. Biggest concern - TJD will eventually have just a good game and not dominate as he has of late. The idea of a fifth straight conference win seemed impossible just weeks ago. Go IU! Feel better Coach Woodson.

Rebounding and the inside game are really key here...Ohio State has been getting killed on the boards in their last 2 games (Illinois loss and Iowa win) . In our game last year at IU, TJD went for 27 points and 12 rebounds (and threw the ball off Joey Brunk's head!) while Key had 2 points, and 3 boards...We have to hit the open looks we get from 3 as well...

Figuring the matchups...

Not sure about the Sensabaugh or Likekele matchups...Sensabaugh is pretty quick for a big kid, and Race's height advantage might be a factor...But can Race guard him on the perimeter and dribble/drive?

Admittedly I have no clue what the Covid rules are down in Monroe County but does Coach have a chance to be back for this one?

There aren't really any steadfast rules anymore. Just guidelines. IU recommends isolating for 5 days.  I would imagine he'll be back as long as he's feeling like it.
