No letdown game that we’ve been prone to in the past. I’m tired of Rutgers and their alum talking trash. Beat the hell out of them. Win by 20+ points.

Win by 20+ and be asses about it.  I want the equivalent of Harper's nuts thing.

Haven’t posted in a while.

I have an admittedly irrational hatred for Rutgers. They shouldn’t be in the Big Ten. They don’t fit in, and never will. Piscataway is a dump. I really, really, really want to beat them by 25. I wish Piekell would get hired somewhere else already.

1901’s unofficial depth/injury report

We all Rutgers on this board! Jokes aside, Coach Pike has done an excellent job rebuilding the culture in Rutgers and gunning for a 3rd straight tournament appearance. Judging purely by minutes and looking at recent games, Rutgers plays about 7-8 deep. Rutgers has a big/tall starting starting with 6’7 G Caleb McConell (who is the reigning B10 DPOY), 6’4 Cam Spencer (RU’s 3 point specialist, 2nd leading scorer), 6’7 G Paul Mulcahy (plays very well), 6’7 Mawot Mag (has become RU’s most intensive the last few weeks), and C 6’11 Cliff Omoruyi (Beast underneath the basketball and leading scorer). 4 of RU’s starters play about 30.0+ mpg, but they have been effective. They also do foul a lot too averaging close to 16.0 fouls per game.

Coming off the bench, 6’6 F Andre Hyatt (9.4 PPG, used to start) and 6’3 G Derek Simpson (had 14 points against IU). Really depends who they use as an Extra person off the bench Palm/Reiber/Woolfolk. I expect them to go 8 deep if F Mawot Mag is out

Injury Report

Starting F Mawot Mag is questionable for the game Tuesday, as he suffered a bad non-contact injury against MSU.

Sounds like Mawot Mag is a no go for Tuesday, tough situation been battling injuries and finally got a spark

Mag had a decent game last time out...He took Race in the post a couple of times for that little fallaway jumper he does, and held Thompson scoreless...Out-rebounded him as well...That surprised the crap outta me...He'd improved a lot from last year...

This one is not difficult. Rutgers has punked IU multiple times for mutliple seasons now. More physical in every way. They take cheap shots. They talk trash. And while IU loses it's cool and stops playing basketball Rutgers turns IU over and controls the boards for the win.

IU didn't handle Maryland's senior guards very well. Rutgers has the senior guards with size and they can score. They rebound as a team at a high level. IU has to come to play winning basketball, not get caught up in the other crap, and cherish the basketball. They can't be fouling like they have recently and give away easy points. It's going to take a big effort, especially from the guards, and a great home crowd.

I loved Jalen's answer about the Maryland game a minute or so in.

I agree. Our team has to have him take those shots. He is selfish if DOESN'T shoot, even when he's struggling. Every shot(basically) that he took on Tues evening was a solid look... and almost all of them were within the flow of our offense.

Well said.....When's the last time we had guy who's best shot was an old school, mid range jumper. Those are rare anymore. When he shoots those, I'm totally confident that it's going in. Sort of the same way I'm feeling more confident with Galloways "in the paint" floaters.

The actions we run to get those two guys those shots are the same. Just mentioning, it's nice that we have a little variation in how we finish that play, as you mentioned.

Purdue couldn't guard it at all. Neither could Maryland, JHS just threw up 13 bricks lol

Verdell is the last guy I can think of that really did well in that area for us.
