Kdug
Just now, KDB said: Home run hire, IMO. Agreed. This is one of 2 or 3 names that has been mentioned that would’ve got me excited. I’d argue his background fits what IU needs the best out of any of the candidates.

FritzIam4IU
YES!!!! Great hire in my opinion. I mentioned it in other thread...give him plenty of money for assistants, NIL, and upgrade the facilities and I think this could be the beginning of something really good for IU football. Best hire since Terry Hoeppner! Go Hoosiers!!!! 2
BobSaccamanno
Got to love the hire. Great news. Tough job ahead, and no one is a perfect candidate, but this is a guy with the right makeup, track record and experience for us right now. I consider us fortunate. We were in a great circumstance in this hiring cycle. The timing was ideal for us.

SpiderMonkey
I want to see an official statement from IU that it is a done deal before I get too excited.
IU Scott
I really like the hire and after watching the video of him on the McAfee show made me like him even more. It showed me he will stand up for his program and players. That is what needed at IU football
Kodos
This looks like a good hire. Let's hope he becomes the rare IU football coach who runs up a winning record.
Muddy River
After the last 48 hours, I may take up smoking… On a semi related note, would a celebratory cigar work, or does it have to be a cigarette?

I read on another site--- 4-3 Cov 2 Offensively, they did a lot... but with balance. 2 RBs- 600 yards+, 2 WRs- 1000 yards each. The details of the offense, not sure, probably gunna watch JMU vs. UVA today though.
MoyeCowbell
If Cignetti doesn't play this at his introductory press conference, I hope Dolson fires him on the spot.

Of course. Truthfully, we need to make it a "thing". Hopefully we are smoking 6-10 cigars a year in football season!!

They have a guy with 15.5 sacks so if he has any eligibility left I hope he would transfer to IU

Best article I could find. I don't think he's married to one approach. Probably why he wins consistently. He is flexible and adaptable. Son of a coach, a lifer, and coaches up players like nobody's business. https://www.dnronline.com/sun_belt_extra/inside-cignetti-s-quarterback-influences-ability-to-develop/article_994b03b7-dbbc-59e9-96fb-c01f1d2e6d65.html 1

Artesian_86
It will be interesting reading the responses of current IU players about this hire. How many will now jump into the portal, decide to stay or withdraw and want to come back (if Coach Cignetti wants them back)...??
