  1. What would you call it if not a speeding ticket?
  2. Guessing it was worse than a speeding ticket then. I am old enough to remember with about 1/2 the board thought a speeding ticket should get X kicked off.
  3. And with regards to everyone saying we have more options behind X this year, we don't. We had more point guards on last years roster than we do on this years. Those are the only two guys that are really primary ball handlers on this team. We have other guys who are playmakers, but they were on last years team too (Galloway and Bates). X and JHS are both going to play 25-30 minutes per game.
  4. You're right, we need XJ to be what he was at the end of last season to reach our ceiling which is why anyone even having it cross their mind to bench him is out of their mind. He's not going to play better because he gets benched, he's going to play better because he feels comfortable with the guys he is playing with and that he has the freedom to play his game. He does not have the type of game you want him feeling restricted and afraid to make mistakes.
  5. I don't want this to be taken the wrong way because I mean it as a compliment, it kinda reminded me of Devonte Green. Devonte was ranking right around 200 in his class, but he came in with some serious confidence from Day 1 and I see that in CJ, too. Obviously would like to see better decision making as his career progresses, but I'll take some of that mindset all day. Very excited about CJ.
  6. They are in the very middle of the league in yards per game and points per game, halfway through the season. The math isn't mathing on you trying to say they just had a bad game against Lamar. They are an average team on defense in the year of our lord twenty twenty-two. If you think the Jets are a good team I have some nice beachfront property to sell you in Spencer, IN. They moved the ball with ease against the Pats and would have won if not for Zach Wilson having a bird brain. For the record, I'm not saying the Colts will win this week. But it's because we aren't a good team, we have a bad roster, a bad coach, and a very average dude playing QB.
  7. My list of guys that I absolutely want on the Colts long-term is not a particularly long list and it's probably made up of guys that most aren't thinking of.
  8. The thought of being a seller is a no brainer to me, I would do it in a heartbeat. I also will be shocked if the Colts do it. You have a GM and coach trying to hang on to their jobs, so they're unlikely to do anything to hurt results on the field IMO.
  9. I mean you can think whatever you want but the stats and their play on the field pretty clearly show an average defensive team. They're middle of the pack in yards and in points allowed The only above .500 team they've beaten in that 3 out of 4 is the Jets, who I think most agree still have a lot to prove that they're legit contenders.
  10. I guess, but they're pretty average this year. If Sam can't win a road game against a pretty average defense and below average offense, then he's probably not the guy. I agree on those play calls - but Frank makes a lot of head scratching play calls IMO. I'm not sure if he realizes that the QB sneak is a legal play, but he should try it out sometime when we need a half a yard. I never really thought Ryan was the problem as much as the line, but I definitely agree that with as bad as our line is Sam seems like he is a better fit probably after one game. Unrelated to the rest of the post, but my personal favorite play of the game was the deep ball to Alec. Was a very good throw, but Pierce did a great job of snagging that ball with his hands; if he lets it get into his body I think the defender had a pretty good shot at breaking it up.
  11. Sure, at some point he'd get moved to the bench but he has probably the second longest leash on the team. He's our only perimeter player who has proven he is capable of playing at an All-Conference level. I'll say it again, XJ isn't getting moved to the bench for his performance. We let him play through mistakes last year and we'll do the same this year.
  12. No, he won't. This team needs XJ to play like he did at the end of last year to reach it's potential and XJ, IMO, is not the type of player you want feeling like he has a short leash. He needs to be free to play his game and know that you're going to take the good with the bad.
  13. Is it a tough start? The Bears and Justin Fields went in there and blew them out - NE isn't that good. I liked what I saw from Sam yesterday, but these next couple road games are two of the more winnable games we have left. If Sam wants to be the guy long-term he needs to win these types of games; granted, he played good enough to win yesterday and his best two skill players let him down big-time when it mattered (JT and Pittman).
  14. Pierce may be our WR1 next year. I like Pittman a lot, but he's been bad in crunch time two weeks in a row.
  15. Yeah definitely not a Brady problem. He's completing like 67% of his passes, averaging 283 yards per game and has 1 pick. I know stats don't tell the entire story, but the problem is not Brady.
  16. no I completely understand your point, I’m just telling you it isn’t a point based in reality. We don’t play in the WCC, we are going to have to play our best player more than 25 MPG to win the conference and get a high seed.
  17. Thank you for proving how silly it is to suggest TJD play 25 MPG by showing Timme played 28 MPG in a clown conference.
  18. I’m talking the best player and one of the best players in the country. I don’t think Cal played guys like AD, KAT, Noel, etc. 25 MPG.
  19. I don’t think it’s about how much we need him, it’s about him being the best player in the conference and one of the best in the country - we are going to play him a lot of minutes. He was playing his best ball at the end of last season. Serious question, when is the last time a guy of his level only played 25 MPG for a top 10 team?
  20. I think some of his injuries earlier in his career played into it. Kid can clearly play.
  21. I’m good with Race seeing his minutes come down to the 25 MPG range but not TJD. If he is an All-American (top 5 player in the country) I don’t want there to be 15 minutes per game he isn’t on the court.
  22. I think clearly they were aware and it’s why they made the move. The question is when did they become aware? My guess is they just learned of it or else they wouldn’t have chosen to pickup his option a couple of weeks ago.
  23. To me this is great coaching. He also gave him props to the team in the postgame locker room. The perfect time, IMO, to push someone is when they have just had some success and you’ve given them some praise to their peers.
  24. Yeah his team definitely was doing PR before the real reason dropped. Props to the Spurs for acting quickly. I know they did the right and obvious thing to do, but we’ve unfortunately seen a lot of examples of teams not doing that, especially this quickly. Good for the Spurs.
