  1. I think the Pacers young players may be too good to tank as bad as we need. Benny and Hali have the looks of one of the best young 1-2 combos in the league. Add in a lot of other intriguing young role players like Smith, IJax, Duarte, Nesmith, and Nembhard and the Pacers may have something sooner than later.
  2. Yeah. Reneau had a double double.
  3. Well TJD, Race, and Malik didn't play a lot. I wouldn't expect that to be a long-term issue.
  4. Some more facts on the Primo situation: Spurs just had exercised his option, and by all accounts were excited about a future that included him. This is very abrupt, he played in their first four games and was averaging over 20 minutes per game. They pulled all Primo merchandise from their team stores, that's not normal at all. The Spurs to my knowledge haven't said anything about it, the trauma information is coming from Primo. Not saying he isn't dealing with trauma or downplaying that, but that's not a reason to cut someone. The Spurs historically have supported players dealing with mental health issues - notably Demar Derozan.
  5. Not sure on the mutual thing, why would the Spurs move on if there wasn't a good reason to? He was a lottery pick a year ago and looked like a part of their future. Even if it was just a mutual decision that he needs a fresh start for his mental health, you'd trade him. He had value. Something just seems fishy with this whole thing.
  6. I think we do agree I just worded it poorly. I agree with you on what he is and that it's fine, I just had hope that it would be more like sophomore year Kopp where he was the man. Perhaps it wasn't fair to put that in the bad category because it's what I expected from him.
  7. Obviously we got the comfortable win we expected, which is great. I only half watched, but some positives that stood out to me: Race seems to have continued with being a good in-game shooter like we saw at the end of last year, that's huge. JHS and MR are the real deal. Numbers wise they may not be, but they could be as talented of a freshman duo we've had in a very, very long time. They both have a presence to them that goes well beyond their years, too. Duncomb looks like he could give us something this year if we need him to. CJ Gunn looked more ready than I expected, I really like his shot and his game. Wouldn't be surprised to see him be a guy who starts eating into someones minutes as the year progresses. Galloway looked like Galloway, with perhaps a slightly improved shot. I love that, thank he'll be an important guy for us. We basically doubled up our opponent without two of our best players, and everyone you'd have expected to be good sans X, was good. And now, the bad: Geronimo doesn't seem to be anymore consistent than he has been in years past. I think he'll contribute and give us things at times, but the head scratching stuff with him really limits what he will be asked to do IMO. Banks was a tad more raw than I anticipated, I thought he'd be a guy that could start eating into playing time the way I think Gunn can. It's one game, but they kinda both did more what I expected of the other one. Kopp seems to be more of a veteran than doesn't make mistakes than a guy we can really count on for buckets like he was at Northwestern. That's about what I expected, but would have been nice to see sophomore year Kopp show up.
  8. Well she should - she knows a lot more about basketball than he does.
  9. I like how Gunn looks at a shooter. I don't expect much this year, but it might be hard to keep him off the floor as the season progresses.
  10. And then an entry pass from Geronimo that looks like it fits on the 09 team.
  11. Nice couple of possessions for Jordan. I think that's the best dribble penetration I've ever seen from him.
  12. It's game one of exhibition but bummed that's all we've gotten from Geronimo. The nice thing is we have so much depth downlow that if he comes in and gives us energy and 5 fouls for 8 minutes he'll likely have a positive impact.
  13. That’s what Primo put out and I hope that’s all there is to it. Not sure why the Spurs would cut him instead of grant him a leave if that’s all it is, though.
  14. It wasn’t a basketball decision.
  15. But he is still putting up yards, they just aren't scoring. And it's weird - you have Evans, Godwin and Julio, you'd think you'd have no issue scoring in the red zone.
  16. Do not forget about Justyn Ross for next year in Kansas City. Chiefs signed him to a 3-year contract as an undrafted free agent - at one point he was a guy considered to be a first round talent at Clemson.
  17. Anyone have a golf simulator in their house? I'm toying around with the idea of doing it in an unfinished room in my basement that is 12 x 15.
  18. The flip side is, what do you think you're getting from a TE at the waiver wire. It's an very weak position to begin with - is taking a "safe" waiver wire pick that gets you 4 or 5 points unless they score a TD worth risking what you could get from Andrews?
  19. Kinda pissed he isn't back.... I have him on literally every team I have.
  20. The only way Lamar plays for anyone besides the Ravens in the next couple of years is if they pay the Ravens a kings ransom to get him. Whatever guys like Stafford or Russ have commanded, Lamar would surely command more due to age alone, let alone his skill level.
  21. There is almost a 0% chance Lamar Jackson hits free agency and a team gets him by just signing him.
  22. So what’s your solution? We’ve tried to build a strong team around a veteran QB several times now and each year the results get worse.
