  1. Last we saw him in an IU uniform, it seemed like he was on the verge of being a real star. If anything, it looks like has has regressed a bit since then.
  2. I think the announcer had it. He thoug Clark got the inbound pass, was trapped, and just through it blindly all the way down the court. Got picked off, quick 3, they lost by 1.
  3. How does an 8th year senior make such a bad decision when he still has time-outs?
  4. Replays on out of bounds calls can be a real problem. I'm fine with a ref saying there's no call on the WV guy. But in reality, even though the MD guy probably touched it last, the foul across the hand should be considered the last touch.
  5. Are there no circumstances under which a ref can check a replay for a flop? WV guy is just falling down every time down the floor. Doesn't look like he's even being touched.
  6. Seems to add credence to the idea that Woody is on team "Add Wing/Scorer", not on team "Stay Put".
  7. This is his third year playing college basketball. Hard to call that something other than his junior year.
  8. Lot of hard hedging there. I wonder if they always do that. I'd love to see JHS attack that with TJD rolling hard. I could see us make lazy passes off that, but I could also see lobs to TJD and lots of dunks.
  9. Obviously, we've laid the occasional egg, so I sort of get it. But, at the same time, even going back past years, the one thing you can always count on TJD to do is destroy teams that are beneath him. When was the last time he didn't dominate a small conference team? I have no doubt he will score in the 30s if we need him to. Hard to see us losing if he just goes off - doesn't seem like this opponent has the offensive fire power to counter that.
  10. The defend multiple positions part is to my mind the thing that could keep TJD out of the first round. I would still take him, but I can see that as a weakness that could cost him.
  11. I wouldn't have taken him in the first round last year, but I would now. To my mind he's improved his touch around the rim (remember all the missed bunnies last year), and his ball handling/passing/decision making. I don't think he has to shoot from the outside, but he needs to convert at the rim and pass effectively.
  12. Compare Kansas vs UConn in the NET and the explain to me how UConn is ahead of them. Unfathomable.
  13. If they want us to play Kentucky, and you know they do, they would have to move us to a 3. Crazier things have happened.
  14. Bracket matrix has 30 or so sites that updated this morning and we're a 4 in around 80% of them. Seems like the best guess at this point. Remember, the committee gave a us a surprisingly strong seed when they did the preview, so it stands to reason they like parts of our resume (strong road wins and no bad losses, would be my guess).
  15. What this team needs most is a guy that can get his own shots off the dribble, isn't afraid to let it fly when the occasion calls for it, and can guard the perimeter. It just so happens we have a guy who fits that exact description wearing street clothes on the bench.
  16. Could also be a kid that has had a lot of injuries sitting down because parts hurt
  17. You're clearly right, but at the same time, they did that right. As a general rule, if a guy has 4 fouls, at least 2 of them are questionable, so I'm all for the refs putting them on guys who aren't in foul trouble. Fouling guys out is refs putting a big stamp on the game, and it's often arbitrary, I'm all for them trying to mitigate that.
  18. He's hitting a shot in the post and grabbing a lose ball that saves us. Sophomore Malik is almost certainly better than 6th year Race, but freshman Malik is not.
  19. What did Race just do? That was the dumbest foul I have ever seen.
  20. Is anyone watching this on a platform that lets them see replays? WTF was that call on JHS?
  21. Let's not forget about Reneau's turnonvers. Let's also not forget about the game Race had against Michigan.
  22. We have plenty of things to clean up, but the refs had to have been at least 6 points in their favor, and even that seems very forgiving.
  23. That's a tough one. Edey grabbing the guy in the first place needed to be called, but that was clearly a flop after that.
  24. Bracketmatrix has them as a 1. Certainly UCLA has a good chance to pass them, though.
  25. I mean, we only have two ranked teams, and we're just outside the top 16, so other than Purdue, that's not an unreasonable prediction. To my mind, the thing Purdue is actually good at is beating poor to mediocre teams. I don't see many 7 seeds rising above that level, so I like their chances to make it the sweet 16. I wouldn't be surprised if a good team ran them out of the building, but they won't face one of those until the second week. I don't like NW chances, but I think us and MSU have a solid chance. Rutgers and Iowa are certainly capable of winning, too. I'd guess we end up with 3 teams in the sweet 16 and we have the best chance of moving beyond that.
