  1. There are still special COVID rules in place that require 7 scholarship players to play. My 3 minutes of searching couldn't find the exact wording, so I don't know how many have to be out specifically for COVID.
  2. No way - pull up their numbers. Only in DJ White's senior year did he come anywhere close to TJD's last 3 years, and even then, only on the offensive end. I'm of the opinion that TJD can't be in the all time great discussion without a big tourney run, but he outclasses White.
  3. The guy who is shooting 46% from 3 and 87% at the line doesn't bring anything that the 22%/62% guy doesn't also bring?
  4. It's hard to be closer to totally wrong. Sometimes a guy drops 30 but by the time you count up the missed shots and turnovers, it takes him 35 possessions to get there. In that case, I can see saying those points don't worry you. But when TJD is shooting almost 80% from the floor and has 5 assists, I would think Underwood should have been a bit more worried. I have a feeling Izzo will be smart enough to double - I doubt we get to 80 if he does.
  5. They don't play for 5 though unless they were around for the covid year.
  6. The difference is whether it's a rule. If MLB rules forced Ruth to stop playing, but not Aaron, then a big fat asterisk would be required. TJD is playing in a unique window that neither guys before or after him will have, so it's hard to see it as an actual record. I think the point of a record is to hold future players up to that comparison, so if they have more restrictive rules, the "record" is not serving its purpose.
  7. It helps when they don't double him before he even gets the ball and triple him when he has it.
  8. It didn't bite us that time, but why was TJD bringing that ball up? His pg was right there. It's one thing (though still dangerous and iffy) if he's pushing some numbers advantage, but we didn't have that.
  9. I don't understand why we never run a play to get him a shot. I wish he would seek one out as well, but it can't be that hard to get a 6'7" shooter a couple of looks.
  10. Here's a crazy thought - run a play to get a shot for the one guy on our team who can shoot.
  11. My goodness. Some of these bricks by JHS, Bates and now Gunn. Unreal how far off those are.
  12. You're probably right, but I wonder if part of what he didn't like about it was that he knew Villanova wouldn't be able to keep up. We can.
  13. Man, the reaction here can just be so removed from reality. The players banded together and stuck up for themselves and their teammates - posters here think that because they did that they won't have time to shoot free throws? If you think some of our guys' comments were a little childish, it's hard to argue with that, but I've seen far worse here. I've perhaps engaged in far worse here. I have no problem with people attacking players at a place like this, and if the players choose to come here and read our thoughts, that's on them. But, to say something directed to them is out of bounds and I'm glad to see the guys come together to go after people who do that sort of thing.
  14. I don't like this lineup right now. We're eating them up down low, so we take out both the guys who are feeding?
  15. The last 4 minutes of this game have taken almost half an hour. Gotta be a way to fix that.
  16. He was still behind the line of scrimmage, so it was a legal forward pass.
  17. He did? He lowered his head and hit the ball-carrier in the head while he was defenseless (he was wrapped up by the tackler), that seems like the definition of the foul.
  18. Someone explain to me how that wasn't targeting.
  19. I've joined dgambill in the early celebration, so I'm not sure which play you are talking about, but TCU's last 3rd down play was ruled in bounds because the ball carrier was stopped, so you can't move him out. That's probably the right rule. I'm not sure why the same doesn't apply if it works to the offense's favor.
  20. I don't doubt that you're right, but surely they have sprinklers. And if they really can't spare the water, then maybe football should be played elsewhere.
  21. How are there so many players slipping when they are playing on a field with a retractable roof? If I didn't know better, I would assume they are playing outside after at least a couple inches of rain.
  22. The announcer seems to have figured it out, but somehow the DC has not. The blitz is not getting home, but the qb isn't playing that well when you just cover, so I don't know why they are blitzing.
  23. No, I can't agree with that. You were trying to say that the conference was exposed in a way that meant future teams shouldn't make the playoffs. One team losing one game(or two, if you want to write OSU off) can't possibly do that. If the whole conference was losing, then maybe. If even one team was being thoroughly outplayed, I guess you could make the argument. But, one team is losing a game where they are still doing a lot of things well. That does not send some reverberating waves through future seasons that exclude an entire conference from the playoffs. I don't pay much attention to names here, but I'm pretty sure you're a very reasonable basketball fan, so I have to assume here you are both grinding an axe and starting tonight's festivities early. Both acceptable.
  24. OSU is anywhere from 4.5 to 5.5 dogs. That would be the biggest upset ever? The BIG is 4-0 as of now in this year's bowl games, and somehow Michigan losing a game where the yards have been pretty even all game makes the conference "exposed"? I'm not sure if you've got an axe to grind somewhere or have just started hitting the bubbly early, but I think you're a little tough on the conference. As it has been most years, the conference is probably the 2nd best.
