  1. I saw Kopp complaining to the refs on that play, but didn't understand it: they had already called a foul. It's clear now he saw it, too. I can't believe they didn't go to the monitor to eject him after Kopp told them about it.
  2. Yeah, Rutgers was doing it wrong. Token pressure to take time off the shot clock has been very effective against us. But, full on pressure hasn't been (with one exception I can think of).
  3. It looked like Malik was moving to box out that guy in the defensive paint - he should let Race know that you are allowed to do that.
  4. Was that dude complaining about the call after clearly slapping JHS across the arm?
  5. I was already pulling out the rule book (because I don't think he got the Galloway running out of bounds call correct), so I checked on your law of verticality. R10A6 states, "A player shall not extend the arm(s) fully or partially, other than vertically, so that freedom of movement of an opponent is hindered when contact with the arm(s) occurs." Seems pretty clear to me that contact is a necessary element of the foul. It also seems clear to me that the call on Galloway was wrong. Section3 Article 1 reads, "A player who steps out of bounds under the player's own volition and then becomes the first player to touch the ball after returning to the playing court has committed a violation." Galloway was not the first player to touch the ball - Kopp clearly still had the ball long after Galloway was back in bounds. I thus add to my list of grievances.
  6. I definitively agree. The De'Ron Davis treatment.
  7. I get that we have better things to talk about after a win, but since we're on the topic of people being against us, I think there is something to the idea that the refs don't like Woodson. Off the top of my head, there was a Kopp foul on Edey in the first where Kopp definitely had his arms come down at an angle, but I don't think he ever touched him. There was a shooting foul on JHS where he never actually touched him. There was the out of bounds call where the ball was clearly off them in the 2nd half. There was the time Edey dropped the ball and somehow that was a foul on Reneau. Where are the equivalent calls where we got a favorable one? I guess the one announcer would say the Edey charge, but that seemed pretty egregious to me. I don't remember a single time where they gave us one that was questionable.
  8. Much like Kopp's 2nd, I don't think there was actually any physical contact on that call against JHS.
  9. We've been the victims of bad calls, no doubt. That was still the right call on that one, though.
  10. They are just letting Tennessee mug them. Big Ten refs would blush at some of those no-calls.
  11. TJD was just standing there not boxing out. No chance the ball was going to come to the paint before the clock ran out, and he let himself get boxed out.
  12. Our defense is looking better this half. No reason we can't get all the way back.
  13. Nah, unless there's one I don't remember, there press hasn't actually caused any turnovers yet. We get into trouble when we try to rush it. Just get our ball-handlers in position and we're fine.
  14. I assume that's what he's told to do. We're okay with them setting up the press as long as we have time to set up our press break.
  15. Banks is managing to be no where near his man on the perimeter, but still in no way helping the post defender.
  16. Only place I can find it is ESPN en Espanol
  17. You have greatly insulted Chester A. Punctuation, inventor of punctuation marks.
  18. Don't be scared of punctuation. Properly used commas can help readers understand your point, and they can also make readers think you have something intelligent to say. I also find them helpful to use when I am trying to insult others for their lack of knowledge. If I don't use them in those situations, it becomes clear to others that I am in fact the one that is uneducated.
  19. The only stories I have seen about the selections all focus on him - I'm sure the people who made the list were aware that having him would draw more attention than any other player. As for the impact on the rankings themselves, history seems to suggest it doesn't help to have an NBA dad. Off the top of my head I can think of Steph Curry was severely underrated, Klay Thompson was underrated, Jet Howard probably was. Tim Hardaway's kid and Glenn Robinson's kid both outperformed there rankings by a fair bit. I'm having a hard time thinking of a recruit with a famous dad that ended up overrated. I think Jordan's kid had a mediocre rating and performed accordingly. Maybe Ewing Jr. was overrated, but I can't remember how highly they had him out of high school.
  20. Very much my impression. There were very few of those lose balls where they out-hustled us. We just got bad bounces, especially in the first half. If you flip a coin a dozen times before every game, there will be a couple times a season where heads loses 10-2. That's what happened last night. It doesn't mean heads was out-hustled.
  21. Sure was a lot of body contact on that replay.
  22. Was TJD even within a foot of touching there guy on that foul?
  23. One nice block. One dumb foul. One nice move at the basket. One dump shot from the elbow. Hard to know what to make of it.
  24. Love giving some full court pressure to their depleted roster.
  25. There's certainly some truth in your statement, but I wonder how much of it can be accounted for by calling a wide open look from Race or Geronimo a good shot. Even Gunn's numbers suggest other teams should be more than happy to let him launch away.
