  1. Who benefits from a game in NYC other than @Lostin76?😛 I am really indifferent to this. We are scheduling games v Kansas, Arizona and such. Why do anything that Calipari might profit from? pUKe bailed on us. We don’t owe them anything.
  2. It’s still early. Maybe he’ll improve
  3. Per CBS Sports, looks like Olave is out this week, but Michael Thomas back in.
  4. On the other hand, there are athletes whose on-field/court legacies were outstanding, but what they did outside of their sport might be even more so: Bill Russell Cal Ripken Pat Tillman Arthur Ashe
  5. I find it impossible to feel any respect for Kobe Bryant and Mike Tyson. I find it difficult to respect draft dodger Muhammad Ali. Pete Rose, Brett Favre, all the baseball players who thrived due to steroids should be canceled from any HOF recognition. I cannot abide Aaron Rodgers simply because he’s a douche bag. I am torn over the greatness of Wilt Chamberlain as I don’t know whether to be in awe of him or find him morally irresponsible for sleeping with 10,000 women 😛
  6. You really think that the team that caused this whole thing to come about so quickly is going to publicly speak out against the league and the new rule? You really think they are that stupid? For the record, there is no evidence to point to Bridgewater being impaired. No tape, to tests, no doctor's report, nothing. My claim is that the league rushed to put something in place due to the negative publicity surrounding the whole issue, that they provided no training to the spotters to ensure this was done properly, and that the spotter in question was a little ambitious in his interpretation of the new rule. Whether he was in error or not, neither you or I know. I am hoping the league puts some guidelines in place so that this doesn't happen again.
  7. When there is no video showing any injury, when ESPN reported he passed all concussion protocol tests, then yes, I believe he overreacted. In this instance, the spotter has not come out with any proof to substantiate his decision. The Tua incident has made the league jumpy, for fear of lawsuit. I believe that players need to be protected, oftentimes from themselves. I also think there should have been some training and a lead time before this rule was actually put into place so that the spotters were provided better guidelines to follow.
  8. I am for player safety. A new rule was put into place Saturday afternoon, approved by both the league and the NFLPA. Bridgewater was ruled out because some "spotter" sitting up in a press box thought he saw him waiver. Per the new rule, regardless of the facts, if this spotter makes the declaration, the player is automatically pulled from the game. In this instance, neither the league, nor CBS who was airing the game had anything on film to validate the spotter's actions. This was the first play, in the first game after a rule was implemented less than 24 hours previously. As I said in my original post, imo this was an overreaction without any justification behind it. Read Peter King's column this week--FMIA. He's as connected to the league as any writer I know. I am pretty much quoting what he says about it.
  9. The penalty on Jarrett for roughing the passer, and the decision to pull Bridgewater out of the game after one snap with no evidence that he was impaired, suggests that the league is overreacting to the Tua situation. Football is a violent sport. I’m all for player safety but they’ve gotta let these guys play.
  10. Undefeated FW Carroll draws Penn in the first round. Not an easy game at all. FW Snider and FW Dwenger in a first round rematch that the Panthers dominated this past Friday. East Noble-Angola looks like a good game in the first round. South Adams-Adams Central grudge match in the second round in Class A
  11. Agree on the never should have left St. Louis comment. Feel like the league had something to do with that decision
  12. If you are client facing, emails get answered promptly. I am in a highly regulated industry, and have to be extremely careful with what I say in an email. That being said, I will answer any client’s communication regardless of when I get it. Replying via email, or making a phone call, depending on the request.
  13. Got it. But when your team is the defending SB Champions, don’t you think that there would be better support?
  14. LA is an embarrassment to the Rams. Having to go to silent counts when you have a home game is unacceptable. Stafford got beat up today, because of a porous O-line, but also due to the noise that the Cowboy fans created. Beautiful stadium, Super Bowl champs. Pathetic fan base. Shame on you, SoCal residents. The team deserves better.
  15. It was time for Hiller to go, overdue. Does not make me happy. His firing means that the program failed. Failed in a hiring decision. Failed a group of players who he coached. Failed the rest of the team by his unit not holding up their part. I’m hoping that some new energy will elevate the O-line to perform better. I’m hoping that the new coach can get out of these guys what Hiller couldn’t. Attitude is everything and if there was mistrust and animosity between the players and their position coach, I’m hoping that is not a problem any longer. I also believe that the loss of Bedford was a huge blow to this unit and can’t be overlooked when evaluating the first 6 weeks.
  16. Another less than stellar game from AJ Dillon
  17. I have just what he needs to ride off into the sunset 😜
  18. I agree with an earlier Rico comment. With the poor play by the O-line, we need to have a quarterback with more mobility and ability to escape the rush. As it stands with Bazelak, we have the perfect storm for getting sacked--leaky line play, and a pocket passer who can't make tacklers miss. I have watched enough college football this year to understand that quarterbacks who can make things happen with their legs are far more dangerous, and don't allow the defenses to tee-off to a definitive point where they know the quarterback is likely to be. Having to play for the possibility of a scramble for yardage, or to buy time until a receiver breaks free makes pass rushers slow down and lose some of their agressiveness. You can point to the idea that we had McCulley last year with that skill, however he did not have the passing ability, We need a dual threat back there.
  19. @Hoosierinbham Mr. Graham had 3 touchdowns tonight. James Hardy IV had one. New Haven rolled over E. Noble, 37-14.
  20. Question of my day. How much will be left after the game tomorrow?
  21. Kyle Pitts out this week. Hunter Henry, Irv Smith available in many leagues
