I think Gunn may come in and surprise us.

And here in lies the scholarship solution if a problem arises.  I hear the NCAA is currently in emergency meetings.  Based on the current political/social environment, they are going to make it a violation to have a Kopp and a Gunn on the same team.  Someone's gotta go folks.  :coffee:

I guess I am in the minority but I feel we need to find an upgrade over Galloway.  I just don't see that he brings that much to the team except for hustle.  He turns the ball over a lot and he is no threat to shoot outside.  He gets most of his stats against non conference teams that doesn't know how to defend him.  I don't see anyone set on stone to start the 2 and 3 position and if we can find a an upgrade who can start that would be great.

I'm really not sure what to make of this.  No one on this board pines for the "Old School IU" than you Scott, and i don't think there is anyone on our roster who better represents the "Old School IU" than Trey.  I firmly believe Coach Knight would've loved Trey Galloway, and quite frankly, I'm shocked you of all people don't.

Lander's quickness could be an asset in the Big East.  IU fans need to accept that Lander could really blossom in a different environment.  He's going to be a sophomore in both age and eligibility wherever he lands.  Plenty of time for him to put it together,

I agree with this.  When Woodson said he was hard on his point guards, I thought the writing was on the wall.  Lander seems like a great kid, but I've never been convinced he is one to thrive under "hard" coaching.  I think if he finds the right situation with the right coach, he can really be something special.

He punched a police officer over the use of a gym, that was currently being used by the Brazilian national team. And if I remember right refused to return to Puerto Rico for the trial. It has been a long time so not sure about all of it. He broke the law and had other incidents, so I guess in the eyes of some on here he should have been fired way before he was. Also Mark Few probably should have been fired also shouldn't he?

Don't forget that Coach Knight shot someone in a hunting accident, and in Scott's eyes, that's murder.....:coffee:

Woodson keeps Xavier he will be held responsible if something happens again. The fanbase will turn quickly. His job will be on line.

Looks like dbmhoosier got another screen name.  There is a certain segment of our fanbase that is constantly suggesting that with every misstep, Woodson will or should be fired.  What is amusing is that many of these same folks are the ones who advocated for Calipari, Pitino, Pearl, and so on.  So is that just a short term memory loss, or is it a sliding scale of ethics?

So we started this saga at 140 in a 50, now it's 90 in a 25, sourced from a post from a 2018 Bloomington paper article? Resisting arrest LAW ENFORCEMENT...

I really need to tag out. Humanity is lost.

I heard there was a body in the trunk.....:coffee:

He just got lucky that more didn't happen because he could if killed himself or others.  First let me say I am not comparing the crimes at all.  I never understood having an attempted murder charge instead of just a murder charge.  Just because the person didn't die shouldn't make the charge any less.  In this case of reckless driving and going 90 in a 45 I don't think it should be just be swept under the rug because nobody got hurt.

So using your logic, he should be charged with murder, because he could've killed someone, even though he didn't?

He should definitely be gone but I'll be surprised if he is.  There's no way Woody can afford any regression next season and that will be hard without XJ.

I have never in my life seen anyone root against all aspects of a university the way you do.  Is it personal?  Did you apply and not get into IU?  Did you go to IU and have something traumatizing happen?  What is your story?

Even then, finding a place around B-town to open it up that much is challenging. You probably could around the bypass if you didn’t lift around every light and somehow caught every green. Which in my 2.5 years of living there, didn’t happen once.

Early in my time at IU I had a Chevelle with a 454.  One day coming down the hill on 446 towards lake Monroe, I floored it, and tipped just over 105 as I went across the lake.  I got scared and backed out of it.  Those were fun times.

This is exactly what scares me.  He can watch video of Ivey and see what he will be able to do.  Who is he going to watch at IU from a guard standpoint??

We probably have a thousdand hours of video of missed wide open threes this year alone....show him that.

He was very noncommittal in hie Hoosier Hysterics interview.  If Race and Trayce come back it's hard to believe he'd get a starting spot. And apparently, per the HH guys, other programs are in his ear promising him a starting spot or possibly a spot at the 3.

If that's the case, it's hard to blame him. Even if he loves being here (which seems to be the case). He's going into his junior year and he has NBA upside. The guy needs meaningful minutes.

Isn't that a violation since he isn't even in the portal?

That's an interesting question and all those things about Dane might be true though I'm skeptical  I would put more stock in Dane's history as an assistant coach. Some of those assertions seem so ridiculous I just can't imagine him doing it.

I don't know one way or another on this stuff, but what I do know is that it wouldn't be unreasonable to think MSU would look the other way on bad behavior.

  13. I have news that is going to break this wide open.  The conspiracy theorists are right on the money.  I have it on good authority that whenever Scott Dolson was mad at coach Fife, he would place a house plant in the window of his office.  This was a signal to Rabby, who would drive up and down the street waiting for the signal.  Once the signal was given, the two would meet in a parking garage at a predetermined time to discuss the issues.  Rabby would then "leak" those issues to various IU message boards.  I happened catch onto this signal yesterday, and I went to the parking garage early and waited in my car.  I overheard, Dolson Rabby, and Woody discussing Woody's pending statement, and they all agreed to the use of code words.  They agreed that "appreciate" would actually mean "despise", and that "part of the Hoosier family" would mean "sack of s#!^ a$$#0<e", and finally that "him well in his future pursuits" would actually stand for "He had never been born"  They joked and laughed as they discussed it, trying to find the perfect wording.  They shared a secret handshake, and went their separate ways. After the official statement was read, they met up at the Office Lounge, where they were joined by Wittman and toasted each other for the remainder of the night.  As I left, I overheard them laughing about fleecing the Hoosier fanbase.  Needing something to get my mind off of the current situation, and feeling a little nostalgic, I went home and watched Deep Throat.

  14. Probably don't have a lot to add to this conversation, but I knew several people who were in Bloomington and on the fringes of his circle during Dane's playing days, they told many stories that painted him in a certain light.  Suffice it to say if as someone posted, Dane was 100% IU, then he was 125% Dane.  I know people mature, but character can be seen early and usually doesn't change a lot.  I don't know if any of Rabby's post is true, but none of it would surprise me based on the things I have previously heard, its consistent with those early stories I was told.  All of that said, I still love Dane Fife.  I hope he does well where ever he ends up, and I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to him coming back to lead IU in the future.

😂 I hear you.  I'm not here trying to upset people and I'd be thrilled if Trayce came back.  I would also be very very surprised.  As I said earlier, I'd put Trayce, along with Parker Stewart in the least likely to return category.  PStew has...like two grad degrees now?  He's also given his senior speech and has said nothing to my knowledge about returning.  Alternatively, Race Thompson made it clear that despite his senior speech, he could return for one more year.

Trayce, on the other hand, would surprise me a lot if he chose to come back one more year.  Not because I've personally made any assessment about his readiness or asserted that he hasn't enjoyed his time at IU or anything like that.  I'm absolutely not wishing him off the team...I think that's bad fan behavior and outside of conduct detrimental to the program, I won't participate in that.  Trayce was on the fence last year and Woody convinced him to come back.  I DO think he's grown his game...gotten better at going to either hand, etc.  I also recognize that he's probably not going to be a high draft pick this year.  It would likewise surprise me that if he stayed, he'd be a high draft pick next year.  I think his game is pretty much a known at this point.  Sure, he could work on extending his range at IU next year, but I don't see that as a likely outcome if he chooses to stay.  It's pretty obvious that he's very comfortable and effective patrolling the paint.  That's his game.  I'm a little surprised that it's so upsetting to think that he might move on and sharpen his game at a higher level.  Right or wrong, we can surely all remain friends?

You are one of my favorite posters on this board, and I agree with everything you said here.  I was just funnin ya a little.
