  1. Always love these Ayden updates and I’m particularly jazzed about the longer hair lately. If he needs some pointers for a top knot let me know!
  2. We are exactly the team that we feared we were. Weak and undisciplined.
  3. Didn’t watch the game last night, but just watched the halftime show. Best one I’ve seen in ages. Really appreciated that they also let the kid (Kendrick) perform!
  4. Was 60 degrees here yesterday. Went into Manhattan late in the afternoon to meet my wife for drinks and snacks in the West Village and the city was PACKED. Everyone was out enjoying the amazing weather. Every bar and restaurant was jammed with both outdoor and indoor seating and people lined up waiting for tables. We found a place off the beaten track for drinks and then I pulled up the score of the IU/MSU game - which really sucked. Today it’s 30 degrees and we have four inches of snow so far. Heading into the Lower East Side later for our annual “hard to get into restaurant during the Super Bowl” tradition, and we will be wearing snow boots.
  5. We’ve had a bike shortage around here since the pandemic and honestly, I don’t like the look of all the super expensive carbon bikes they sell these days. They all look/seem the same to me. So, I’ve started amassing parts to build two bikes this Spring. I’m about halfway through the first build. This first build is a Italian-produced steel Ciocc frame that I got in November off of Ebay. The seller said it was made by the famous frame builder Giovanni Pelizzoli in 1979 and then refurbished by him in 2020. I thought it might have just been made up, but the logos are stenciled on (Instead of decals) and it came with a photo of the frame signed by Pelizzoli. I’ve found all Italian parts for this first build and had to buy some bike-specific tools to put it together, but I like having a project. Had a day off on Wednesday and installed the headset, bottom bracket and Campagnolo racing crankset. I have tires arriving today and should be able to complete the build by late next week. It’s going to be a single-speed bike for short trips and fun rides in the park. And yes, I am having to do this in our kitchen, b/c we don’t have a garage or anything like that.
  6. We need to come in here p*ssed off as a group and just stomp on them. Have to turn things around this weekend.
  7. I have the 45 of this and it never fails to bring a smile to my face. If I’ve had a few beers, then it gets a few spins. Loud. God I love this album. Probably my favorite of theirs, though Eat a Peach and Brothers and Sisters gets a lot of rotation around here. Not sure if you’ve heard of Ween (a lot of people hate them, but they are good musicians and super clever), but they have a song called Dickie Betts that is pretty damn good.
  8. Woke up this morning excited to watch the game on DVR during my vacation day, but then logged into Twitter and saw a bunch of stuff about the suspensions. Will still watch the game tonight b/c I want to see how Galloway did with more time. So, wasn’t weed - people just jumped to that conclusion? Anyway, good to see Woodson making an example of them. Hoping this brings the team closer together and that the five in question bust their butts to get back into everyone’s good graces. But, I can honestly see this being the beginning of a bad slide. That’s how we have normally rolled in the last several years… Here’s to hoping they arrive in East Lansing ready to kick *ss though. I hate the Spartans. HATE them.
  9. Had some errands and missed the game. Expected TJD to foul out in five minutes and for them to rain threes on us. Looks pretty close to what happened. I know we have only lost twice at home this year, but I am so sick of losing at home and not imposing our will on teams. We are better, but not there yet. I hope he runs them until they puke tonight. I was planning on watching the game on DVR tonight, but think I’ll do some work on my bike instead. Picked up my new wheels at my shop in Bed-Stuy this afternoon, and would rather do something fun than torture myself watching a loss to Illinois. On the bright side, we haven’t lost two games in a row this season, so will hopefully rebound next game.
  10. This sounds exactly like me - I’ll adjust whatever I need to if it means keeping cocktail hour or a couple of evening beers. Personally, I prefer biking outdoors over the Peloton, but usually when I’m biking outdoors it’s to get somewhere or just have fun. The Peloton is the pain and sweat cave. I do like those scenic rides too occasionally. Peloton has a whole series from places all over the world.
  11. Started the Pamela Anderson/Tommy Lee series on Hulu last night. First episode was pretty good, Seth Rogen as a disgruntled (rightfully so) carpenter who steals The Tape.
  12. One thing to note with Discogs is that it’s MUCH easier to input albums when you are still at 150 albums. It gets to be a lot more work once you have hundreds of albums. Learned this when I spent several weekends entering over 500 albums! Also nice to be able to track the value of your collection. Plus, I just love seeing the grid of album covers in my collection. Bummer about your Qubuz trial. They do have a great selection. I’ve not found much that isn’t in Apple Music though.
  13. After trying all of them pretty much, I’ve settled on Apple Music. I did like Qubuz for the high quality of files, but the iPad app was supper buggy for me. So much so, that I cancelled my subscription twice in the last 6 months. Kept going back for the quality and deep jazz selection, but just too annoying to use on a daily basis. Apple Music has been pretty great so far. We also had family plan Spotify, but cancelled after trying Apple Music. for your growing record collection you might want to check out Discogs if you haven’t already. Great for cataloging your collection and maintaining a want list of albums.
  14. Ha, I don’t know that Tunde, the Peloton one is fit and fierce. Like her arms are no joke!
  15. I like Ben and Leanne as well. So funny that they are married. Emma is great too and I like how Wilpers focuses a lot on form. I’ve been afraid to “crush my core” with Emma, but I probably should!
  16. Best purchase we have made for our health and well being in ages. I love hopping on there with Robin or Tunde to start my day. I like Olivia too, but man she is HARD. Who are your go to instructors?
  17. Between Peloton, regular biking, and walking I do alright, but always pick up a little more weight during winter. More baking in the household and I just don’t want to get out as much. Keeping moving is super important, it is shockingly easy to slide into a sedentary lifestyle these days and once you pack weight on it can be hard to get the energy to get started. I know it sounds like a 5Fouls joke, but having a younger, super-fit wife really helps me. I’m not sure I would be as fit as I am w/o that motivation.
  18. Really driving or any drivers is my new pet peeve. I’ve come to hate drivers and their behavior so much these days. Why do people become such jerks as soon as they get behind the wheel. Even when I try not to, I get short tempered in traffic. Also, sorry about everyone’s COVID cases lately. Sounds freaking miserable.
  19. Just watched the game on DVR, excellent, excellent game from start to finish (except for the 0-8 start). Great to finally beat MD in MD. I spend a lot of time here, but f*&k Maryland’s basketball team. Geronimo is just a monster out there. Galloway had two dunks and Lander got to play some. Loved the teaching moment between Woodson and Lander. Folks, we have ourselves a coach for the first time in over a decade. TJD and Race just out there doing TJD and Race stuff.
  20. This is an ‘only if I’m in the car by myself” b/c I don’t want people to see me cry.
  21. I hate this. We have a**holes in NYC that park on the sidewalks all the time. You have to squeeze to get past them, and I’ve seen people pushing strollers out in to the street to get around them b/c the sidewalks are blocked. You can’t report them or have them moved, b/c they belong to NYPD who have driven in from Long Island.
  22. That’s the guy. Woodson should be showing that clip on a loop for these guys. What a piece of trash.
  23. We are in St. Michaels. We go to Annapolis often.
  24. LOVED this place when I was younger. Was always the highlight of my summer (small town kid, yeah) when we drove over to visit. HAven’t been there in ages, but so many fond memories of that place.
  25. We have been in Maryland for about 10 days and had planned to drive back to Brooklyn tomorrow. But now we are forecast to get a ton of snow in both Maryland and NYC. I don’t think the area around College Park is going to see as much snow, so hopefully that doesn’t impact things. It’s pretty rare to get a snowstorm like this on the Eastern Shore, but it feels like we could. Air is heavy and the Miles River is getting some icy areas near shore. Would love to see us crush MD tomorrow. Still remember that asshat a couple of years ago disrespecting Assembly Hall logo at mid-court.
