You can't have the B1G FOY, Pac 12 FOY and a 2 time all Pac 12 player and not be a top 20 team, top three in B1G and at least a Sweet 16. Anything less would be a failure. They will easily be one of the three most talented teams in the B1G.

Not to mention 2 other “5 star” players - Reneau and Tucker.

All you guys make good points. No doubt the recruits we've got committed are talented. But talent doesn't equate to winning.

I've been listening to Rabjohns on a podcast and he's saying IU's still going after yet another, big man. that would give us 3 bigs. All talented, all productive, but if don't have anybody that can stretch the floor, defenses will just clog the lane.

It's nice to see all you guys saying I'm wrong. Honestly hope you're right. But jury is still out for me on how productive and wins we get next year.

While I’m excited about the addition of Tucker, Rice and Ballo, I see a repeat of last year unless we get a couple of legitimate 3pt shooters…and I mean an in your face type of guy!

Someone talk me down off the ledge…please.

This is where I am. I’ll be extremely disappointed and angry if we don’t snag a couple sharpshooters. I have no faith next season will be much better without a couple. We’ve seen this story every year recently. The pickups so far are great and I’m happy with them, but for crying out loud FIND US A REAL SHOOTER OR TWO!!

    Yes, please!

People are overreacting because we need shooters and one that they were told was coming here just committed to Cincinnati. So we still don’t have a shooter correct, going on how many years? Ballo alone doesn’t fix any problems, and I’m not of the opinion that Carlyle does either.

Carlyle is considered a scorer not a “shooter” - big difference. That’s nice, but we need shooters!

This NIL and portal stuff is really becoming a concern. I don't think NCAA Championships will be a part of the equation any longer. We have seen how ISU has been devastated by the transfers. Have we ever witnessed anything like that? All those donors who threw into the NIL have nothing, now. History of programs will become an afterthought. It becomes programs with the highest bidder. Loyalty has been shot through the heart. The 1-year commitments will become common place. $$ has become the focal point. Once the public can't relate to the players, interest will wane. $$ will rule.

Unfortunately, teams will live and die by NIL and the portal. There will be a few exceptions here and there, but not many.

"I was developing Bryson with a pro-type skill set.  It doesn’t mean that he was going to be a one-and-done or anything like that, but I already had certain things already mapped out, including certain types of coaches.  Indiana (with Mike Woodson) was one of those schools with one of those particular coaches"

    Gotta love that.

To me, Conwell isn’t happening at that point unless we start Malik at the 5. Which we aren’t going to do. I think Hickman would still be gettable.

Let’s hope we can get one of those two, because we’ll still need a knock down 3pt shooter. It’s all about roster construction, and we have to get the right pieces to turn this thing around. We had 3 five stars in our lineup last year, and we all know how that turned out.

If Rice and Carlyle becomes reality, we are getting TWO dynamic guards that can score, setup teammates and get past their defenders.  Now go land a top end 3pt shooter and a big to go along with Tucker and that will be a very good offseason.

Yes, please don’t forget about a legit 3pt shooter. I’m not sure Rice or Carlyle solve that problem, and it is a huge problem!

  9. Not an overwhelming hire, and I would expect much angst in Wildcat nation. Some will be excited because he’s one their own and is a good coach, but many will be disappointed much like the Woodson announcement. Quite a step up from BYU to Kentucky.

Kinda funny how salty they're getting over all this...

Tradition does matter, whether they like it or not...in today's world, not as much as NIL money (which they're lacking as well) but it does matter...

To all PU fans that claim titles don’t matter watch UConn reload after back to back titles. Of course, recruits notice. Ours were years ago, but they still mean something when you walk into Assembly Hall and see 5 of them hanging over the court!

I guess it’s rent free for the other program he’s talking about too?  Or maybe he’s just making a general comment and people freaked out for no reason.  Regardless, he hit the nail on the head about kids not caring about that stuff.

Would they have cared, if you had beaten UConn?

They are throwing the who bag to Hurley. He will say no. Mitch does not like Pearl or Beard. Pope is like Drew in a way off the court. Going to get a rude awakening. Plus their NIL isn’t as rich as many thought. IU actually has more.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it isn't Oates. I know he’s said he’s not interested, but I’m sure he could be convinced now that Hurley and Drew have said no.
