I personally think it's clear cut from a fantasy standpoint.  You allow the players to keep the stats accumulated up until the point the game was stopped and you call it a day.  Not really different than if a player in your lineup gets injured early in the game.  II's a risk each week you fill out a lineup.

From a real football perspective, it's much murkier.  It not only impacts the Bills and Bengals, but the Chiefs, the Ravens, and the Patriots, and could subsequently trickle down to any team in or competing for a playoff spot.

Does the league consider scheduling changes going forward for something that may happen once every 50 years?  I'm not sure.  But, a contingency plan is never something bad to have.

If I had money in this..  there's no way I could agree.

How long do you wait for a game to be played before it would be agreeable to say that was it? (i don't think it will be made up).

It's not much different than betting on a horse and the horse going limp mid-race.

Apparently yahoo needs to add a stipulation that says points are only scored for games played within that week.

Call it void. There's literally another week of games.

And how is that fair if a fantasy manager has players that sit out for their real playoffs in week 18 just because the other fantasy manager had 1 game cancelled on them?

You won't get to something that is completely fair.

How was it fair that Henry sat out this week? Or that Dhop did?

"Had one game canceled" tf?.. lol you could have had 2 or 3 players playing last night..  EASILY...

100% you will make it if you play it week 18. It's the same for everyone. Last week wasn't the same for everyone at all.

Week 18 championship is the only logical conclusion.

Actually the other way in 2 of my leagues. Week 16 and it allows for draft night strategy knowing Week 14 has guys on byes. I'd rather it that way vs any chance of the resting or not playing guys in 17 and 18.

I'm saying week 18 THIS year. Like... make last week void... restart this week. That's how I would handle championships that were week 17 THIS year ... with what transpired last night.

The first paragraph doesn't really make sense to me.

If I had Allen and Diggs like @dgambill did and I was down 5, lets say... say he had Burrow. There's no way to just give him the win. I mean, there's literally another week of the season to use to determine a true champion. Using week 18, at this point, is a much fairer way to decide these championships.

Got it.....tough one because some of us on draft night prepare specifically for week 15-17. That could be a good one time rule. Guess it would be better than just saying this game is void.

Right.  And this is all just my opinion...

I would rather use Allen, Burrow, everyones average to decide winners. Thats a better route than just saying --- "Nope-- Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Diggs, Allen, Singletary, and co you get no points, but everyone else gets full points"

....when we are talking about deciding championships.

I had Trevor Lawrence in my ESPN league and the Jags decided to sit him midway through the game to protect him for the matchup this week against the Titans.  I got a partial game out of him.  Nothing I can do about it.  I'm saying Yahoo should allow the partial stats for Allen, Diggs, Burrow, Chase, Higgins, etc.  Fantasy owners get a partial game out of those players, much as I did with Lawrence.  Sure, it sucks, but these types of things are beyond the control of the fantasy providers.

Let's say your opponent had Jefferson Week 17 and suffered through his 2.5.  Now, you're giving him Week 18 instead and Jefferson may go off for 35+.     How is that fair?

Well because I would still have my FULL team to play against him...

Your example is of ONE player..  this is screwing multiple, big time players.

I don't see how you can compare TLs outcome/situation with this one, anyways, honestly. Especially.. when you have a fair option to just use week 18. That's 100% a better option than just saying "this game doesn't count"

Because week 17 was the set week for last round of playoffs.

I am ahead currently and was predicted to have a big chance of staying ahead had they finished the game.   How is it fair to say scratch this week and lets have a do over?

I have no money on this obviously so not a big deal in my instance but I would be pissed if I did have money on it and someone said do over

I had JT go down on the first play of the game. You just live with it. If they play the game at some point, great. If not the season is over. I have not even looked at who is winner or losing, doesnt matter at this point. A player DIED on the field last night, not much else to say about it.

Right. It was set, and circumstances changed that.

I would be pissed if there wasn't a do over.

It's really not that hard to play the championship week 18. That would pretty clearly be a better option then to just say this game should somehow count?

And my point was you'll never please everyone but doing a do-over is just as unfair as what you are complaining about.

The choice to stick with week 17 is the most fair.  You'll never reach completely fair but a cancelled game is similar to having a player or players get injured.  An event that is unforeseen and out of the hands of the fantasy manager.

1 out of 16 games got cancelled.   I don't agree that is enough to warrant a complete do-over even though I had a QB in that game.  It would be no different then had he gotten injured in that spot of the game.

Every sportsbook in the world is offering refunds... but fantasy thinks this matchup should count in a championship week? Crazy.

That's a bit different.  I'm guessing those bets were just on that specific game.

There is no solution in fantasy that would please everyone (as seen in our debate).  I would guess they are trying to come up with options for leagues that have money involved.

Think he is still in critical condition (not dead yet unless I missed something).  hopefully pulls through (not sure what his chances are).

Not in the least bit. It's fair, everyone gets an even shake if you roll with week 18.

No, because you're re-rolling the dice.   Players don't always perform the same each week.

For example, Ekeler had a 37 point game this past weekend.  Do you think he is going to have another 37 point in week 18?...but apparently it's fair to re-roll the dice anyway even though his results are already in and were set to count.

Correct, it is fair, if someone had substantial player in the MNF game. Like having a fair shake is the most important part here.

The only way the Monday night game should count is if your opponents players at that position are void, as well. Like if I had Burrow and I played someone who had Mahomes... Mahomes points shouldn't count, if for some reason that league is going to count the MNF game and not use week 18.

Still seems pretty crazy to me not to just use week 18 as the championship with what has transpired. It's a very simple and fair solution.
