Thats the play, everyone can judge how they want, so long as no one tries to say it was some minimal amount of contact.

There was contact, to me the contact was caused by the reaction to the initial foul and the fact that Peyton is a tall guy so when he pushes the fouler off the arm was high.

I don't have an issue with them calling that as long as they also call Edey every time he takes his arm/elbow and puts it into the chin of his defender to make space for a shot.  He does that at least once every game.  At least.  And by the letter of the law those should be fouls too.  "OH my, how do we officiate him because of his size?" say the stupid BIG refs.  Well you do the way you do with everyone else.  The reason he gets the sh*t fouled out of him is because of how physical he is allowed to be IMO.  Start calling that physicality both ways and it clears right up.  Either he figures out how to get his shot without the elbows to the head or he sits on the bench in foul trouble.  And if he isn't throwing elbows, then defenders need to out athlete him by taking away passing angles and such.

I agree with that if I don't feel like the guy in charge only had a 7 to 10 year shelf life to begin with.  You can stomach a year 3 hiccup for a 45 year old, it is harder with a 65 year old.  One guy has time to grow and the other was supposed to be a finished product.

It's hard to imagine how the 3rd IU fan in the 14th row isn't in foul trouble before the tip.

All I know is that the last game established an arm to the face is a flagrant foul.  Based on how Sparks was called, Edey should be on the bench by about the 5th time down the floor....

  4. So anybody that considers themselves a leader on the team has to be pointing out that the goal right now is to get in the tournament and see if we can go on a run.  You still technically have a chance and going on the road and beating Purdue should go a long way towards keeping hope alive.

It is a tall order but somebody has to do what Galloway did at Ohio State and kind of say, "This is for us, let's pay these a$$holes back for last month."

The last 2 games showed me that Cupps might not be ready next year to contribute on a good team. Galloway is limited in scoring but he’s the only one working hard on defense. Ware needs to demand the ball. Be more assertive. Last thing when Iu goes up 10 in the first half don’t make 4 subs. Keep the foot on the throttle.

I don't have an issue with Cupps.  He wasn't supposed to be a starting PG as a Freshman.  I also think he would do alright in a different type of systemic set up.  If we keep him around for 4 years, he will contribute.

Not necessarily disagreeing…but then who recruits? We know Woodson is too busy smoking cigars, sipping wine and playing golf to get out consistently on the recruitment trail.

Who has Hunter brought in the last 3 years?

I'm not there at all in terms of Coaching changes. Weighing all sides of things between recruiting, player development, and Coaching I'm on the side of chalk it up as a bad year and go from there in the offseason. We certainly will have an entirely different roster next year.

Somebody has to get fired for this year.  If Woodson is going to get another chance (and I think he will), I am forcing him to fire Hunter at the very least.

  8. The team that Penn State last beat in Bloomington is eerily like this one.  Got a 1st round draft pick and enough talent to be better than we are but.....

The scheme is broken, the correct off season moves (that everyone saw were needed) were not made, and here we are.

Here is reason 50 to fire his _____ass. The open scholly says get off your deadass and go recruit.

And any media person not afraid to lose their credentials should have followed up that statement with a question like, "Given that, do you wish you had a do over on not filling the 13th scholarship?"

IU media are kind of cowardly down the line though.

I’m in the very small minority here when I say this, but it looked like the Nwestern guy put his arm under Edey’s initially, arms weren’t really straight up, but I don’t understand why it wasn’t called on the floor. More importantly what I don’t understand is why he was allowed to just slam into the Nwestern kid pushing him halfway down the lane. He should have been called for a charge and then the other stuff doesn’t happen.

I think the sport in general allows too much contact in the post.  For instance, I will rag on a play involving one of our guys here.  I think it was the Illinois game where Reneau caught the ball in the post and full on slammed into one of their guys 3 or 4 times before putting up a shot (which he made).  They said it was good, tough Big Ten basketball and I was thinking that on the road he is lucky it wasn't an offensive foul.

The amount of contact that college allows in the post ugliest up the game IMO.  Everybody is fouling everyone down there, often egregiously, on every play.

You think Mark Titus is fairly unbiased?! Dude is a known Purdue hater mostly due to his dad whose takes are hilariously bad. And it’s ironic because his mom played at Purdue.

Put the Purdue fan take in there too.  I know people go after Edey about the 3 second call quite a bit but this to me is what he gets away with every game.  An elbow to the head is what according to the rulebooks?

    Also add trades as well

How would you do a draft. Just have the power 5 teams draft and the rest take the leftovers

Forget that, that skips the most basic of questions, how do you align that with forcing someone to go to a certain school?  This is supposedly still a bunch of academic entities.  I think if you are to that point that the schools would have to completely separate the athletic department from the school.  And I would hope at some point all the eggheads would look at each other and ask just WTF they are doing.
