Woodson is looking more like dumb and dumber. MM can't handle the ball, has no quickness and can't jump over a pop can. I can't wait till he is gone. The trouble is as incompetent as the Administration is they will give him a Tom Allen extension and buyout.

MM can have a major advantage and maybe even get one one coverage. Better spacing for cutters and driving lanes. Finding more ways to score and using a player capable making played is always smart

Really good players can be versatile and can play both outside and inside. When you can do more it makes it harder to defend that person. If he is playing the 4 and Reneau at the 5 both of them can play inside and out.

Did we see the line-up some of us have been salivating at the possibility of? Cupps XJ Gallo MM Malik I think we did see some of that lineup, too. Or perhaps with Leal instead of Cupps. Playing that lineup is great, and I want to see it, but also we've got to shift HOW we play with that lineup. That was the thing that disappointed me against Illinois - yeah, we played more perimeter players but we didn't change what we were doing or our approach to offense. We need to put some film out the next 6 weeks showing guys how we can be a perimeter oriented team if we want them to come here in the portal.

Yup. This to me is head scratching. The whole reason to play MM at the 4 is to spread the floor. Not more post play.

He will…it’s all mental at this point, and that’s when a fresh start can really help. Not always, but usually…..especially, if the player is as talented as Gunn, and he is talented just like Bates. Euroclydon
When I listen to CMW talk about the team there are clearly things he sees different than the fans. He has more patience obviously and he has a better view of what's going on inside the team. But there are some things he is either intentionally ignoring or just blind to the reality. Both are deadly to a program. He can continue to say he's got to help them learn and get over the hump, but we've seen a lot of the same issues since the exhibition games. At some point you have to admit something isn't working. Some things are not sinking in with the team. Some of the coaching is lacking. Some of the talent is not where it needs to be. Some of the missed recruiting with no backup plan has cost them dearly. At some point you course correct or go down with the ship. I'm 67 and I will go to my grave believing that CMW should have started Gunn and brought Galloway off the bench. I think it would have given CJ a whole different perspective and confidence. Probably good for all concerned, because I don’t see him turning it around at this point, and would expect we add a couple quality guards from the portal next year. Questionable, if Galloway comes back for a 5th season, so that just leaves us with Cupps and Newton (if healthy). Woodson can’t afford to swing and miss again or it will cost him his job, so he’ll pull out all stops to get some playmakers/shooters from the portal. Steubenhoosier
Not gonna give up on any of these guys. Players mature and improve at different rates. CMW trusted Gunn enough to put him in there in the first half and he got a couple of strong rebounds. I would love to see him mature and improve in the candy stripes rather than elsewhere
OGIUAndy
In case anyone cares, I broke down some numbers because someone on a different site said we're a terrible 2nd half team, and it's actually the other way around: 2nd half scores Florida GC 37 IU 41 ARMY 33 IU 40 Wright St. 31 IU 35 UCONN 40 IU 27 Louisville. 37 IU 40 Harvard 36 IU 50 MD 25 IU 25 MIch. 36 IU 41 Auburn 52 IU 42 KU 43 IU 31 Morehead 32 IU 44 N.Alabama 32 IU 40 Kennesaw 41 IU 50 Nebraska 45 IU 37 OSU 27 IU 34 Rutgers 36 IU 30 Minn. 31 IU 33 PU 36 IU 37 Wisky 52 IU 53 ILL 32 IU 28 Iowa 40 IU 35 2nd half Them 774 IU 793 1st half Them 775 IU 752 Total Them 1549 IU 1545 I could be off, but I double checked this a couple of times (only the second half scores) then just subtracted those points from the total scored/given up.

I believed now and believe even more it was a mistake. He has decent size, maturity/leadership, solid defense, and has a stroke. Only issue has been it is difficult it get in rhythm in 2 minute spurts every ten games. Woodson values versatility, not role players/specialists and it is a mistake. BGleas
A ton of credit to the coaching staff for adjusting. I absolutely love that! Woodson and team deserve a ton of credit for this improvement. I think it's also fair to criticize why it took so long and why the initial scheme was set-up the way it was, especially when we've seen it not work in years prior. But again, love seeing these types of adjustments. 7
