iuthruandthru
I will never forget storming across campus with my fellow IU students the day you got fired. Hearing the stories of IU basketball and coach from my uncle when he went to IU. Will always be a part of my IU history. RIP Coach Edited November 1, 2023 by iuthruandthru
13th&Jackson
Just the end of an era. As Bum Phillips would say, “he could take his’n and beat your’n, then take your’n and beat his’n”. He taught us all how basketball should be played. Popular Post BGleas
RIP, Coach! So, so glad that he and IU mended fences in 2020. What a great memory for fans, his players and family.
go_iu_bb
Sad news. He was the coach at IU for about half of my life. I vaguely remember the '87 championship and my favorite IU teams are still the ones of the early '90s. I'm glad he decided to let his grievances with IU go and has been around the program for the past few years. He wasn't perfect but he was a great coach. BADGERVOL
Although I knew it was going to happen soon, when I saw it on FB I gasped at the dinner table. My wife said “what’s wrong? What happened??” “Knight passed away.” She watched my reaction of shock turn to huge tears. Just laid my head on the table for awhile. 😭 Edited November 1, 2023 by BADGERVOL 4
Parakeet Jones
He and my dad were the same age. My dad passed away 5 years earlier almost to the day. Many of the happiest moments of my childhood and even young adult years were watching his teams with my dad. I’m sitting on the couch in my man cave revisiting some of those memories with tears welling up in my eyes. Thank you, Coach, for those great memories you helped provide for me. 2 1
