Scott Drew turns down Kentucky….who’s next on the list…Nate Oates, Chris Beard, Bruce Pearl?

They are throwing the who bag to Hurley. He will say no. Mitch does not like Pearl or Beard. Pope is like Drew in a way off the court. Going to get a rude awakening. Plus their NIL isn’t as rich as many thought. IU actually has more.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it isn't Oates. I know he’s said he’s not interested, but I’m sure he could be convinced now that Hurley and Drew have said no.

what more did the mfer need!?!?!?

NIL. The money dried up. so he says. he had to chase NIL money instead of the Adim getting it, i think was his point. ?!?!?! that took some work to do that. impressive.

Right. Oats currently making $6M at a football school that is currently finishing ahead of KY. Why go there?

Won’t be. Alabama donors gave him NIL. UK for some reason doesn’t actually have the NIL many thought. That stuff gets around. It’s still a lot but IU has more. Insane isn’t it.

Oats ain’t going anywhere. He’s just done the equivalent of taking IU football to a NY6 bowl. People love it, but has spring football started yet? High bankroll and low pressure. He’d be insane to make that jump.

Drew was one of my prime picks, and he at least listened.

Sampson is still the one that scares me. He’s a solid coach that plays a really fun style, smooth talker in front of parents, boosters and the media, and knows how to operate in the grey area of the rules. Giving him a high profile platform like UK….😬

This is just my opinion, and I have no inside info, but I think our administration has been much more aligned in making sports a priority since Whitten became president.

Our problem with basketball lies within  the outsize influence that some members of the BOT seem to have on the program.

I likewise am on the outside looking in.  I think she's better for sure.  I just think it takes a lot of effort to reverse years and years of institutional rot and I'm not sure one person can do it without a lot of cooperation.

UK may be one of the few schools with a fanbase that makes it even harder to recruit than IU.  Oddly enough, it appears it only makes it difficult to recruit coaches and not players.

We know uk will get a coach eventually. The problem is the longer it goes the more it eats into uk fan's psychey. How can anyone say no to them?

We also know once they hire someone their fans will declare it the best choice; their real first choice; and the savior. It's too predictable.

Hurley has now said no.

I think some UK fans believe Sampson, at 68, is too old.   🤷‍♂️
