They are literally $400-500 now.  That's partially due to time value, partially due to increased collector interest and partially due to what IUFLA posted earlier...record numbers of gun buyers driving the market.

Geez, I'm glad I got my Garand when I did and am kicking myself in the ass for not gettin a Winchester Garand receiver and an Iver Johnson M1 Carbine.  I had the money but I just wanted the M1 Garand at the time.

This evening, I shot a Chinese military issued SKS from the Korean/early Vietnam era.  I'd bought three of them which had been sitting in cosmoline grease since the 50's & 60's, tore them completely down and ran them through a buddy's parts washer, then oiled them up, reassembled them and put a 40-round pro-mag on the oldest looking one to shoot.  What a blast.  That old war horse cycled the 20 rounds I loaded in it without a hiccup.

My grandpa, who fought in Korea and Vietnam had an sks. The story was it was a battlefield pick up and he sent it home.  No way to really prove it but I dont have it to verify.

But I do remember when you could buy cases of surplus sks for $60 each.

...and in my 3 plus years of doing background checks, I have had ONE denial and I guarantee this guy is not a hardened criminal.  He's just unlucky enough yo have a name, address or social security number similar enough to a criminal to trigger a delay.  He's working on getting a UPIN to avoid denials in the future.

If I remember right, in Indiana, if you have a valid LTC permit you can bypass the NCIS check.

My wife and I are about to get lifetime  permits asap.

Just heard a news tease that there was an incident in Bloomington over last weekend.  White men beating a Black guy and then saying "Get a noosel".  Happened on 4th of July.  Don't know what happened.  Not IU related, I guess.  Still being investigated per B-ton mayor.

I'm not going to post it but there is a series of cell phone videos condensed in 1 youtube video. Look up Jeremy Hogan on youtube if want too see it. Those people are not from monroe county.

I will fight somebody over what’s the best deep dish pizza. I’ve put a lot of thought into this over the years so if you want to debate me you better come at me guns blazing. 😎

First, I’ve talked to many people who have developed a negative opinion on deep dish because they either get imposter pizza outside of Chicago or have tried Pizzeria Uno (barf) Or Connies (double barf). If this sounds like you, then give it another try.

The best Chicago Deep dish is made with the CORNMEAL CRUST. That’s right, you hear me lovers of Girodanos. I’m sorry, but doughy crust with all that cheese and all that sauce just throws off the ratio and it lacks crispiness. We’re supposed to be eating pizza not triangle shaped lasagna.

That leaves you with Lou Malnatis (1A On my list) and Ginos East (1B On my list). Both have great pepperoni and amazing sausage. Lou Malnati’s gets the nod because they have ‘The Lou’ which is a tomato, spinach, mushroom pizza.

I'll second Lou Malnatis.  Haven't had Ginos but I think they have one in Indy now, would like to try it sometime.  Also, Lou's has really good salads and their dressing is awesome.

One 'silver lining' in the death rate is that other states started high, but it started to go down after the most susceptible passed away.

Also, doctors understand more about how to treat it now than they did back in March. Don't know how much of a factor it is but definitely part of the equation.

I want to do a smoked brisket pizza. Smoke the brisket do all that jazz and then make a pizza and smoke it.

    Anyone done this?

I've done it with pulled pork. Pork and red onions were the only toppings. Didnt think of smoking the pizza though. Was pretty good.

Next thing to figure out is how to get mongolian or general tsoas chicken in pizza form.

Grew up in Gary, Indiana. Never knew that pizza cut be cut in slices, till I arrived on campus at Indiana University.  All our pizza "joints" in Gary.... always cut their pizza's into squares.  To this day... I think pizza cut into squares tastes best.

Oh. And long live Chuck E. Cheese.  Sorry may be going away... due to the Pandemic.

Chuck E. Cheese's parent company files for bankruptcy

Loved Chuck E. Cheese growing up. A parents worst nightmare.  Had some good times playing air hockey with my dad.

I like Imo's. Not just the cheese.  But also the fact that they cut their pizza into squares.

St. Louis-Style Pizza | Experience the Tradition

Square pizza is best. I never knew square pizza existed until I met my wife from Illinois.  An Illinois pizza chain called Monicals, thin cracker crust square cut and a delicious house made French style dressing.

Funny to me pizza story. I worked at a really crappy pizza place called Mr. Gattis for a couple years in high school.  Had an arcade.  But the main attraction was the 54" tv.  The Amish absolutely love IU basketball.  Whenever they showed up for 9pm games, after we had cleaned up, the manager would make us fire up the oven and reset the buffet.  So one night I told the pizza cutter to cut the cheese but not the crust.

Watching them saw at the crust with dull spatulas was my revenge.

  10. Right now my favorite is Neopolatin style when I can get it. I lean more thin crust but will eat just about any kind except Pizza Hut.

Whatever Pizza Hut does to theirs my colon doesnt agree.

My favorite combo is bacon, onion, jalapeno, and pineapple. Come at me🤨.

  11. I really need a break from earth right now. If aliens abducted me tonight and took me on their ship to do experiments on me im not sure I'd care.

It's really hot out and I'm sure their ship is cool, plus no corona.

You live on a different planet than most of us. Flattened? Texas, Florida and multiple other states have significantly increased cases, hospitalizations, daily records, but we already covered that and you choose to disregard it all

I think what we should be looking at, is If there is a spike in deaths. I dont think it should surprise anyone the raw numbers of cases will increase with more testing and, let's be real I'm tired of the hypocrisy, the mass gatherings of all sorts aren't helping.

But we need to look at the statistics and not the raw numbers. I'm no expert but I didnt spend alot of money and time to get a BS in Science, and like @Leathernecks be frustrated with the crap "science " that's pushing this.
