Some good feedback here....as I said, I am not interested in stopping conversation--for those that want to partake. I am merely suggesting that for those not interested in the opinions of outside fans, we have a way to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. And thanks, Mr. Linguist @IU Scottfor the correction. I always know that when you point out a gaffe, I must have really screwed up.

Can you please create a place to discuss other schools like PUke and Illinois so when we open a thread, we don’t have to Wade through a conversation about their players/ recruits/ schedule/coach/history? I get it that game conversations are valid. I am so tired of threads going down the road of anything not IU. After all, it’s “Hoosier Ports Nation” nothing else. I am tired of hearing the “ but if they’re respectable they are welcome here” comments. I really don’t care what any other program has going on, don’t care about the opinions of the posters from their schools who come here. Don’t want their feedback about what IU is or isn’t doing. I am not advocating banning posters from other schools. I would love for a separate place where those who feel the need to entertain these folks can do so, but for those of us who could care less, we don’t have to sift through their nonsense to get to what we’re interested in. I am probably going to get some flak for this, but feel confident that I am not alone in feeling this way.

Unfortunately, the last 20 years have created in our fan base what I call the “Eeyore syndrome.” Always looking for the worst case scenario. Always… ALWAYS, pessimistic. We have to start putting winning seasons together, not the one offs that were the Crean years, to turn the mindset to one that we should expect to be at or near the top of the standings, every year.

Last year we lost at Pennie’s State and Minnesota gave us fits. I agree that we should be favored to beat both, but am not convinced that they are gimme games. On the other hand, glad to not be playing at the Kohl Center. Regardless of their talent, Wisconsin has been a tough team for IU to beat. I think we get them at home this season. At this point in the year it always seems like we parse the schedule and make confident assertions of the games we will win, the games we will lose, and the up in the air games. We forget that these are young men who we are counting on and that things like women, diversions in big cities… life in general, tend to blow up our perfectly planned season!

yeah, that’s really not the point. Could care less about Illinois. Smart kid… seems to me that if he goes to UNC, he’s turning his back on any academic integrity. Far cry from being a Northwestern student athlete.

Well, wouldn’t that be quite the anomaly now. Guy who can academically qualify for all that is Northwestern decides to take his basketball talents to the bastion of academia that is North Carolina! Sign him up! See if he maintains that 4.0 GPA. Go Pete Nance, go! Be the best you while matriculating at the highest level. Smh

The west side of Ft. Wayne looks like a war zone. Officially, a "derecho" hit last night. Temps in the upper 90's with heat index at 110 and 28,000 customers without power. I & M telling them that it will be until Thursday night until power is restored. We got it pretty bad up here in Angola as well. Fortunately, I still have power, but nearby lines are down and gas lines have broken.

People categorizing others as "Boomers, Gen Xers, Millennials, whatever." People are people...with strengths and weaknesses. I know some very intelligent, tech savvy people my age and older, and I know some young people who don't know how to operate an electric can opener.

I don’t begrudge any school from trying to improve its lot in life. Just like I would love for everyone here to be striving to improve themselves. Don’t understand the malice towards programs that are trying to move forward.
