Day 1 starter at RT, really frickin good, has a chip on his shoulder....and now our line is pretty darn solid. Wright was gaining steam leading up to draft as it seemed Carter faded a bit. Today we focus all on D.

I wouldn't be opposed to them taking another O-lineman as well (center?) if the opportunity presents itself. But yeah, they need some D-line help for sure as well.

For me these our the positions of need O see for the Colts.

CB- Porter Jr.

WR- Hyatt or Reed

OG- ? Don't know who the prospects are at that position.

TE- Mayer

They wouldn't draft a guard in the 2nd/3rd, imo... if they were going OL, I think they'd take an OT, and Smith move to guard.

We do not have a need at TE, and we aren't in any way shape or form taking on Day 2.

Did you hear Ballard's press conference and went on and on about how great this TE class is. I also see them waiving Mo Allie Cox and Ogletree is young and coming off an injury.

Do you find it realistic WHATSOEVER that they would draft M Mayer?

Agree with this.  I think the Colts really, really like the two TEs they took in the draft last year.  Personally, I'd rather them target other areas like corner or receiver.

Yeah, I mean.. I don't really know what we'd gain by dumping Moe and drafting Mayer. Mayer+Woods aren't going to coexist.

I am liking that Bears-Carolina trade thus far.

In exchange for the #1 pick (Young) Bears received:

-Darnell Wright (and 4th round next year pick from Philly)

-second round pick this year (#61)

-D.J. Moore for 3 years at reasonable costs.

-A first round 2024 pick

-2nd round pick in 2025.

If Fields takes the next steps to be a legit franchise QB and they draft wisely, they could finally be relevant again.

That trade and subsequent haul has us setup for sure. The biggest thing is DJ Moore on the cheap and their #1 next year which should be a top 10 pick. Having draft capital is what has made the Eagles good in recent years and having 2 #1's next year it might be something where we could trade up to get Marvin Harrison Jr if Fields is the guy we think he is.

Oh...and we have $120M in cap space for next year. What Poles has been able to do in short order is remarkable.

I like having the two first round picks next year as well, because if Fields doesn't take the next step up this year, we can use it to potentially grab a top tier QB in next seasons (supposedly) better QB class.

I had honestly forgotten that we had the 2025 second round pick from Carolina as well.

As you mentioned...so far, so good with Poles. He keeps his cool and doesn't panic like Pace did in the draft.

I don't think we have a three down tight end on the roster, so if we can get that great value on that type of player why wouldn't we take them?

I disagree. And because we have 3 other position groups that need more help.

Well colts may still have shot at hooker or Levis.  Could the smart be to take 2 QBs and let them battle to start then trade the other at a later date?

I know RB is devalued but think Bijan is clearly the best player in this draft.  Good job Falcons.  Was hoping for a Bengals trade into 8 to land him.  I always liked Ridder and think

Houston way over paid for Pick 3 when there was plenty of defense on the board they could of landed at where ever their next pick was. Seems like a the coach wanted defense and the GM wanted a QB.  Carter has baggage, Nolan smith is coming off injury and Tech guy is raw so Anderson seems safer but seems like wrong decision to make that trade.  They have a lot of holes to fill.

I have 8th pick in Fantasy dynasty draft out of 10 teams. Late first is when the WRs usually start going in our dynasty league.  TCU WR going to Chargers.  Would it be a stretch to take him over Njigba (Herbert vs Geno)?

Fire Ballard and hang Irsay if they do this.

I doubt they do it but Washington did something similar with RG3 and Cousins.    From Rotoworld below.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport believes the Colts "likely will take a second QB somewhere" in the remainder of the draft.

Rapoport tweeted this in response to Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeting "Colts Fans…would you take Will Levis at #2 if you’re on the board for Colts in 4 hours from now?" Levis was a massive favorite to go fourth overall to the Colts before the draft started, but Indy stunned the sportsbooks when they opted for Anthony Richardson instead. Levis proceeded to fall past every team in the first round and is still undrafted. The Colts hold the 35th overall pick. There have been multiple reports of teams trying to trade up to the top of the second round to land Levis, so it's unlikely he is available when Indy takes the podium next. It's even more unlikely that they draft Levis, even if he is still on the board. If they do add another quarterback, it shouldn't be until the third day of the draft.

Listening to Jim Miller and Pat Kirwin on Sirius NFL network. Miller said he interviewed Ballard and asked him about moving up to #1 to ensure getting the quarterback they wanted. Ballard admitted that “ they hadn’t done the work “ to thoroughly vet all the candidates so they could feel comfortable in making that move.

WTH!! This really is dereliction in my opinion .
I have been a staunch supporter of Ballard. Not so sure anymore
