@btownqbhit the nail on the head with why the I 'want' to keep playing.  @dgambill has captured why I won't change my roster.  I do not want to impact the playoff race.  Even rthough I really, really don't want to play New Orleans 'D' this week.

That said, I would still enjoy scoring as many points as possible, so I will start and sit guys already on my roster based on matchups.  Thankfully, in one of my HSN leagues, I had picked up a 2nd defense last week before I was eliminated, so I do not have to start the Chargers against the Chiefs.  I already have the Bills to slide into the starting position.

But, the whole concept of stop trying to compete is what ruins fantasy football to begin with.  People with that mentality often stop completing during the regular season, and thus gifting victories to those that play them late in the season.  That can impact standings and playoff spots much more than someone who continues to play after being eliminated.

I would much rather have a league full of people that competed until the bitter end as opposed to having even one or two that quit during the regular season.

Agreed. To me the bitter end is when the playoffs start and you are not in it. I want people to compete right up through the final week of the regular season. I can see why some want to join a league that has a consulation bracket so they can keep playing even after they are eliminated. That's all good! I agree...frustrating when you get someone that has competed half the season...even beat you...but gives up late and let's all your opponents get free wins. That's the worst. Or they dump their roster. Or conspire and trade their good players with someone. I guess personally the custom leagues (which are usually competitive) if I didn't make the playoffs there was no consulation bracket. In yahoo random leagues there is....but typically those leagues aren't too competitive...and I have a hard time remembering not at least making the playoffs in them. I know they have a consulation bracket...but I've never played in those....I just left my roster stay as it was and went on to something else...like my basketball leagues or leagues that I was still alive in. I guess my competitive leagues just hasn't done consulation prizes because they don't want non-playoff teams effecting the playoff race. That has been my experience. Fantasy is fun...by all means enjoy it how you see fit everyone!

Just to try to change the subject....I think I'm going to institute a new draft rule for myself next year. No more geriatrics lol.

No running backs over 25 and no wrs over 27 lol. I might do that as an experiment in one of my leagues...say in rounds 1-8 or something....but I have a feeling I don't need an experiment...it's probably just the new way it will go.

I always try to make a list of guys I won't draft ever again and why I won't and email it to myself to save for next August.

Ridley, Brown, Waller have all made the list this year and depending on how he finishes Metcalf is in the running for never again if he's with Seattle.

Probably a good thing....while it is fresh in your mind and the pain is still strong lol. I just think this is a young man's league now days. There will always be exceptions but the longer season and the more money these guys make...seems they just can't keep it together. Give me young, hungry dudes.

We both have 'Bye' as our opponent this week.  How about bragging rights to whichever one of us beats 'Bye' by more points.  We can compete, even when we're not.

I kid you not. I had a friend in college W. Bye, he played some tennis tournaments in the summer as a teenager and won his first 3 matches ever because the other guy did not show up for the match. Finally they realized what has happening and he had to put his first and last name.

Jaylen Waddle on Covid list this morning. Devante Parker if you trust him could be in line for big numbers this weekend vs Jets.

I lost count but I think Dolphins have to be down about 5 starters.

Covid is wreaking havoc in both sports leagues. Too bad they are both only about 90% vaccinated...to think this could all be avoided if they would have gotten 100%. s/c

Seems like the extra testing the NFL put in place after Thanksgiving get togethers 3 weeks ago is proving to catch quite a few folks...especially in NFL. I still have to make some roster moves in a few leagues but I'm not doing a thing until I know the guys I want are playing.

I still don't get it.  If you have been eliminated, you are no longer competing.  Three more paragraphs got me no further in understanding the concept.  I guess you are fantasy footballing yourself?

Here.  This might give you something to do 😂.  https://gambleindiana.com/sportsbook-bonuses/

Seahawks placed WR Tyler Lockett on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Advice: He will be joined by Alex Collins. The hits just keep on coming for this first week of the fantasy playoffs. It is unclear of Lockett is COVID positive or a close contact, but neither scenario is likely to give him enough time to get cleared for Sunday's game against the Rams, though there has been talk of the NFL loosening its protocols amidst this mounting wave. Lockett is vaccinated, so either way it is difficult to see his sidelining stretching into Week 16 against the Bears. In Lockett's likely Week 15 absence, DK Metcalf suddenly becomes a real-deal WR1 again, though neither Freddie Swain nor D'Wayne Eskridge will be recommended WR5 punt plays. This probably shores up Gerald Everett's

I may not have a team by Sunday.

I retract this statement.  :coffee:

Before any draft I always check fantasy playoff schedules. Last night is/was the reason that Chiefs always deliver in fantasy time. I've got Kelce in several leagues along with Hill in paired with him in 2. Great start to the playoffs...and a nice reminder by Kelce to the world that's he's still the best TE in the game.

Here's some key guys to track today. One that really is interesting to me is Fournette. With Gio also hurt it could be a monster load for Ronald Jones....or it could be a monster landmine going up against Saints Rush D....or maybe Fournette hasn't practiced all week just giving him time to rest.

Javonte Williams Elijah Mitchell Leonard Fournette Damien Harris James Conner D’Andre Swift Marquise Brown Terry McLaurin Jalen Hurts Lamar Jackson

Either I have them or have their handcuff. The thing I hate about week 15 and beyond is the mistakes get magnified....and given covid stuff many of these guys won't know their fate to play until Sunday morning.

I have one league (started playoffs last week) where I have one acquisition left....save for a D stream next week or get Jones if Fournette out. Right now I'm leaning on waiting because Jones vs Saints isn't ideal. Even with full workload.

It is crazy for sure. I really need Mitchell to play this week. I love having an RB in the flex and don't want to have to use Van Jefferson there because I might need him to take M. Brown's spot.
