This definitely bodes well moving forward, if they can keep it up:

This recent stretch by the Hoosiers doesn’t carry the earmarks of a fluke. They’re playing like one of the best teams in the country, ranking No. 7 nationally and No. 2 in the Big Ten in tempo-free efficiency stats while winning six of their last seven. The key? Balance. The Hoosiers rank 13th nationally in offense and 23rd nationally in defense in this span. Good combination.

Is it an upset if IU was favored?

I have this theory that in pursuit of perfection there have been dozens or hundreds of earth's created.  Maybe somewhere eve didn't eat the apple or man was left alone to live in peace with the beasts.  Anyway, there are realities I don't even want to consider. The one universal truth though, is that purdue sucks.

You mean there isn’t one where they won 5 national championships and we none??

According to my 54 year old eyes......I would say that IU should be listed at #3 in the BIGTEN, above Illinois. It looks as though they are going off the "away" record.... I sure like IU creaping back up. We're only 3 games out of 1st. Let's go boys! Go IU!

I really want to see how Purdue reacts to the loss at SSAH...

Their next 3 are not calkwalks...

2/4 Iowa in Mackey...the Hawkeyes have won 3 in a row beating Rutgers, Northwestern, and Illinois at home...They also beat Rutgers at Piscataway earlier in the year...Iowa's offense is no joke...

2/9 Northwestern on  the road...The Cats have the big Nicholson kid in the middle that I think is a pretty good matchup aganst Edey. Buie and Audige are experienced Big 10 guards that can handle Loyer and Smith on defense, and have an advantage on offense as well...

2/12 Maryland in College Park...The Boilers only escaped with a 3 point win at home against the Terps...We've seen what that environment can be like, and Maryland has those long, athletic wings...I'm not sure Julian Reese can handle Edey very well, but Jamir Young will be a tough cover for the freshmen guards...

Is this maybe where the Boilers come back to the pack?

Iowa is another tough matchup for Purdue. What are they going to do with Murray?

Maryland can beat them, too. Don’t think they lose those both, but could definitely lose one.

Then if we clip them in Mackey… would just need one more to take conference. Lots needs to break our way and we certainly need to take care of business, but it’s out there. Gotta keep swinging our swing.

This is the second time i have heard or seen someone say this. When i looked on ESPN app at like 11:00am Purdue was -1.

Indiana was anywhere between a 1pt-2pt favorite by tip. The ESPN app had updated by like 2pm or so to show that.

Oddshark.com is a place I like to go to see multiple places books/lines.

If they were using away record the NW would be listed first. I think they are using overall record and then it's just alphabetical. Probably some heavy use of the tie breaker system once the regular season is complete.

24/7 Sports has reranked their preseason Top 25 freshmen based on the season so far, and JHS is up from #22 to #8. Would love to see him back, but he may play himself into a 1st round pick and be gone…enjoy him while we can.

One of the negative recruiting themes against Indiana is IU doesn’t put players in the NBA. Much as I would love to have TJD and JHS back next year, I think long term having them go and doing well works in IU’s favor!

not over the last 10 years...Cody, Yogi (for a while) Vic, Romeo, Bryant, Vonleh, OG, Morgan...going back a ways, Gordon.

Can't see that being a valid recruiting negative any more.

The only post-Crean player on an active NBA roster that I'm aware of is Romeo. I'd imagine it's absolutely a negative when we're going after the top tier recruits.

I don't see "Mike Woodson can't get players to the NBA" getting much traction.  That's a valid criticism of a former coach.

Then your argument is with the coach, not the program. It's been discussed ad nauseum on here how CAM failed the program. Any negatives should be directed at him, not the university.

Agreed that it was a CAM issue, and I'd imagine it won't be an issue with Woodson. Just pointing out that we really don't have many recent examples of successful NBA players, mainly thanks to CAM. Don't think it's a big negative considering Woodson's NBA background, but I'm sure it doesn't help when other programs can point to recent draftees.
