Unless it hasn’t been reported yet, it’s inexcusable for the cardinals to sit pat. Their rotation sucks and the division is their for the taking. Unreal.

Just got a text from Cardinals buddy saying the same thing. Regardless of how Cards are in 1st place and for them not to do a single move? Puzzling is best he could come up with.

They had a stud in the front office who left to take over as Gm for the Astros. Looks like we chose the wrong guy.

Check that, the Cards traded Jedd Gyorko for Tony Cingrani. Only problem is Cingrani had surgery in June and isn’t going to pitch the rest of the year. Solid move.

And they traded Gyorko when his trade value was the lowest not when he hit 30 dongs. Very, very strange.

How much team control on Cingrani?

And the Cubs ship Edwards to the Pads.

I think that's a mistake. He was getting it together before he got hurt, and when he comes back, a couple of looks, and sent to AAA.

The guy the got, Brad Wieck, is a lefty, but owns a 6.57 ERA in 30 games this year.

Sometimes just a new start for all parties is the best thing. Cubs have/had about 6-7 guys where we keep waiting for one thing or another. Time to start shuffling a few things. Not just in the short term but also long as well. 3-4 years from now. You have Javy/Contreras but no guarantees of Bryant sticking around and Rizzo will be aging. Completely off topic but Cubs will need to nail their next 2-3 drafts.

Meanwhile, the Yankees also do nothing to bolster their starting pitching!!! They are hoping Severino and Betances will contribute it's in some capacity during the 2nd half. But it looks like the Astros added to their already strong staff....  Ugghh!!!

I wouldn't worry too much. The Yanks have the 2nd best record in all of baseball, and the best in the AL. No use blowing up your farm system when you're in that position.
