I think it was MCPD. I assume most PD don't write for the accused overly well.

I found this article. It was BPD and better explains what happened. Looks like they made their minds up to arrest him before he moved to the adjacent lot. So he was arrested off of Taco Bell property. All this over a Taco Bell order(I assume). Good day folks.

For refusing to leave a place of business after repeatedly being told to do so??

If that's the case, he really has some issues unfortunately.

But he did leave prior to be arrested, correct? And the police, by their own word choice, appear to have not told him he was being arrested prior to him leaving.

And that's exactly the point...

If the police were worried about the welfare of Taco Bell workers, stick around until they close, and watch Mgbako's car...

Supposedly newly disputed details are coming out...

Kid: learns lesson, moves on

Adult: this is an outrage and we need a congressional investigation

Kid: "ya'll dumb"

As an adult I can say with 99.44% confidence….all teenagers are idiots!

All,

This is a public directive for all. This thread is about MM, Woodson's reaction, impact.on IU and the team etc.

This is NOT a thread about police, society or anyrhing else.

I am.asking nicely, let's keep this about IU and what HSN is about.

If we keep going down there other roads, we are going to lock this up.

That would be a shame to have to do when our requests are clear here.

Take those other debates offline, please.

Nobody has the facts, and this isn't the place to debate those facts in the terms some.of you.have been.

This is an IU sports board. Let's protect the culture of what HSN is.

Seriously, last warning and plea. Let's just walk away from the combustable, non IU debates. We are all passionate in our beliefs.

But we are her to share in our passion for IU. Let's keep it there.

Just because you say 'please' does not mean you're asking nicely.  :coffee:

So is everyone just giving Woody and the coaches a pass on this?  If this happened under CTC or Samscum's watch y'all would have been roasting them for not having control of their players and the quality of young men they were recruiting.  This ain't the first incident on Woody's watch either.

And  l'm not as sure as some of y'all to believe alcohol or Mary Jane wasn't involved.  Maybe the cops cut him a break on that since they knew who he was. Like really... who is sober at Taco Bell at 3 am on a Sunday morning?   I'm braced for the answer to be... this was just a late night snack after a Cook Hall workout or that he was driving for Uber Eats.

Go Hoosiers!!!

I mean if he went to Jiffy Treat, that is pretty dang removed from the situation.

I don't think moving your car 100 feet after being escorted off the premises of a business that you just had an altercation with while waiting for the police to leave before going back over there is the de-escalation you think it is. Given that Jiffy Treat is closed at that hour that's also loitering.

I'm sure after so many times of telling someone to go home they had no other choice.

You are taking for granted that you know the details when the reality is, you don't. I don't either. I know what the police, who broke the window after he had left the premises, are saying happened.

There's this mindset from you and a few others that whatever the police say is gospel and that they handled everything appropriately, but that isn't reality a lot of the time.

We know that in the police report, they chose to not use language that would indicate they had told MM he was being arrested. Again, that was their own word choice indicates he didn't know that.

We know in the police report MM started to leave and came back - we don't know what the police or Taco Bell workers said. It's unlikely that either of the parties we hear nothing about sat there silently as he just raged for 15-minutes, don't you agree?

So we know MM could have handled things better, it just stands to reason he isn't the only party that could have handled things better. And if any of the three parties involved handle things better, he probably doesn't get arrested. As it stands, at least two but likely three parties handled something poorly, and only one party faces any level of consequence as a result.

Good points. We are discussing MM. I'd imagine the manager of the TB has talked to the employees there and the police chief has talked to their officers. There  may be  consequences for them but it is unlikely we will ever know about it. Maybe there are Taco Bell and police message boards where that side is being discussed? 😁 Here, on a bball board, the main focus will be on MM. Regardless of the Taco Bell employees and police response, MM could have, should have handled things better. We have the benefit of hindsight and more life experience whereas he is young and was the one actually dealing with the issue in real time.
